Well, the just offed his little bro and then offed himself.
Anyhow, yesterday's scenario was good...intense...but, good. The zombie attack in the sewers was fun but things got serious against the sniper and etc. I was so happy when I stabbed him to death.

I played a little yesterday too. I got to the building with the "hunters" and I went to take a nap and passed the F out at like 7:30.

Finished the game finally yesterday. Wow, what an ending...what an emotionally engaging game. This title deserves all the accolades and I can now see why it got the scores that it did. Outstanding.
I noticed that the ending was similar to the beginning except that Joel comes out of it a happy and not in the emotional grave with losing his daughter. Just like the beginning, he carries his girl as he's fleeing...but, this time, he shoots and stops the obstacle between him and daylight. Not sure if Ellie believes his lie, though...but, I think she may understand why he did what he did.
The scenario with David and the cannibals was intense.
Anyhow, GREAT game. I will take a few days break but probably replay it. I need to find more Firefly necklaces. I was lucky to locate all the comics and find all the items though.

Ellie doesnt believe it but she accepts it for various reasons.

So, did Joel do the right thing? And what would you do if you were in Joel's situation...?
Marlene and Joel are essentially both Ellie's "parents"...both making very difficult decisions based on very different perspectives/values...

Personally, for humanity's sake, Joel probably didn't do the right thing. But, from what was shown in the game of how humans lived in 2033, I think the standards & morals of humanity (as we see them today) were so far gone that a cure would not necessarily bring any peace to the world; the hunters & killings would probably continue without the fear of any more Infected appearing. It would probably take many, many years, possibly beyond Joel's remaining life for humanity to return to how it was before the outbreak.
In Joel's situation, taking everything that happened to him in consideration, I would have done the same. It was clear after David that Ellie had become his "daughter" (baby girl) & Joel's line at the end, "You keep finding something to fight for" is a reference to Ellie herself. And if you watch when he says that, he looks down at his watch that Sarah had given him. Joel would probably not have been able to cope with losing Ellie as it would probably feel like losing Sarah again. Adding to that, Joel had even told Ellie they don't have to go to the hospital, showing his initial fear that he may possibly lose her.
It's just an interesting ending because you make of what happens next at your own will. The only thing the game outlines is that Joel has his selfish reasons for saving Ellie because she keeps him alive, whilst Ellie accepts Joel's lie because she doesn't want to be alone & would be scared with anyone but Joel protecting her.
Damn Yummy, you're making me want to play through it again.

^ Nicely thought out reply.
Yeah, great game. Storyline is nothing short of outstanding...drawing on aspects that made me a huge fan of "The Walking Dead" series. Joel is an interesting "hero"...or even anti-hero. On one hand, he's a brutal man...a person who lost his humanity to survive in a nutty world...he has implied that he was on the side of the hunters before and even his smuggling trade has it's dark aspects.
The fact that he does not flinch in committing any of his atrocities when interrogating also shows how far he has gone.
Then, you contrast all of that with the devotion and care that he shows Ellie.

Aight. Loved the game so much I started to replay it last night as a Plus game.
So, carrying-over my skills and abilities. Will try to find all the Firefly medals this round. And also, I intend to kill all the infected in the hotel basement this time.
I say that now...but, watch me like a headless chicken again when I hit that stage.

How's the New Game+ working out? I started over too. So nice having upgrades early in the game.

Going great. I've made it to Salt Lake City. Joel is fully maxed out and I have found a few other things I missed the first time round.
And oh, I killed all the zombie bastards in the hotel basement. This time, I had enough ammo and knew what was going to happen instead of -ing like a headless chicken crying for my Mommy.

I only made it to the city. Last I remember I was in the hotel, after you pass through the library with all those hoodlums.

When she's taking on the zombie attacks in the old factory with David (particularly the scene with the fat@$$ zombie "boss"), took a few tries.

Oh and then another like...10 minutes to kill all the infected and then them. USE ALL THE AMMO!!

The 3 Bloaters in the tunnel can be avoided....How, I don't know, but that's what I've been reading. I only managed to avoid 1.

I avoided the first one. That next segment had me really confused. I ran past all the infected and it wouldn't let me press triangle to jump up on the semi trailer. The button showed up on screen but was darkened.

If you don't have a gun that can do that, toss a nail bomb after the Molotov cocktail.

Okay...this is a weird one. Here's a game bug for you guys. I encountered only 4 zombies in the SLC tunnel in my first walkthrough of the game. And those 4 were stalker/runners...NO BLOATERS.
So, if there is supposed to be THREE Bloaters in that tunnel...this is something I have yet to encounter.
Fark.

Nope. Normal.
Anyhow, finished the game last night. And I did encounter the hoard in the tunnel this time. Killed them all. I was able to stealth kill the first 2 batches...but, the last one with the 2 Bloaters was tough. Stupid Ellie started to fire when I lobbed a nice cocktail into a group which gave away our position.
But, after sprinting around in erratic circles to shake off the chasing, I was able to finish off the group.
Anyhow, I'll give the game a break and play again on Hard next.
Still loved it lots the second time...although, I took a more Rambo approach.

The hoard in the tunnel was pretty tough, and required a lot of patience to sneak past. lol

For the lone Bloater, a nicely placed cocktail followed by a shot or two of the rifle did the trick.
The problem with the 3rd batch was there were 2 Bloaters...again, the inactive Runners were easy. I also took care of a Clicker that circled away from the group as I was hugging the right-side of the tunnel.
The problem was when I hucked the cocktail between the 2 Bloaters and the inactive Clicker...Ellie started to shoot and well, that woke up the other inactive Runners (near the group) and there went my plan.
Oh well, I survived. It was fun.
