Congrats. Trailhawk is a quite nice looking little SUV.
If we weren't set on wanting 3rd row seating, it would be in my top 5 short list.

I never really hated the Nissan Juke, so when these came out, I didn't mind it. And, it looks a lot better than a Juke, in all respects.

Make sure to sign up on jeepcherokeeclub.com

It seems to be the most active KL forum.

There is a company that makes some great rock rails that seems pretty unobtrusive. Cant remember the name off the top of my head.

Trailhawk looks great! We have the same packages, no tech, but we don't have the sun roof either.

Hopefully they are better than cherokeeforum.com where most people will say, "that's not a real jeep, that thing can't go off road, that's just a fancy station wagon, the only place that jeep can go crawling is the mall parking lot." Which is pretty much the exact same things people said about the XJ cherokee back in the 80's and they were wrong back then too.

There is a whole sub-section based on location for meets and off-road trips.

Is the trailhawk AS off roadable as a wrangler? No, and its hindered by the fact there are no lifts kits because of design roadblocks...BUT it is a capable off-roader.

And you can download the jeep app which gives locations of trail rated areas to go. If memory serves me.

I think Cherokee Club is for the KL specifically...

In any case, all the purists flip out at everything. Remember when the Cayenne first came out? Every Porsche owner out there had a cow about it...now they all probably own one.

I joined up, going to try and find some people to go with.

Trailhawk is a lot more capable than what people think. Check out videos online for it doing Hells Revenge and other complex trails.

Had my wife's Cherokee in for a recall (firmware) and there was a firmware upgrade for the transmission...seems to have to taken care of that hard shifting in the first 3 gears. sweet.

500 miles in, transmission has not yet imploded.

Fuel economy has improved to ~22mpg combined. First long highway trip is this weekend, I'll report back after that.

Report back after first road trip. Went up north for a wedding and added ~700 miles to the Jeep which were 95% highway. Fuel economy on the way up there was ~27.2mpg and on the way back was ~25.8mpg. Worse on the way back because we brought home 200lbs of firewood from the in-laws and also had a pretty steady headwind.

Overall not bad at all and the Jeep is still breaking in. Just a bit over 1300 miles now.

Also, I'm not really sure what it takes to get the transmission to go into 9th gear but the highest I've seen it do is 8th...

Someone on the new TV show Im starting has that TRD Pro in that metallic orange with black roof basket and rear ladder...that thing looked pretty damn good.

I'd still take the Trailhawk.

First real Jeep trip will be this weekend (I hope...)

Finally took this thing off road on Saturday. Went up to Spider Lake MN OHV Park and had a really good time. That OHV park, while Jeep "rated" is far too tight for even the small Cherokee to easily fit through, it's far more ATV/UTV friendly than Jeep friendly.

That said, the Trailhawk ate it all up with ease and didn't even flinch at anything I threw at it. Granted I went for all the easy/moderate trails (by MN standards) since this was my first time, I didn't really feel like it was ever actually trying. Used low range much of the time and the rear locker a few times as well. Took it all like a champ.

The wife was in charge of the GoPro and missed the one huge hill we climbed but otherwise, here's a few highlights. The sh1t is way steeper in real life than it ever appears in video:

Definitely hooked now. Need to find an area that's more open to ride. There's one up in the iron range in MN that I hope to get to this fall.
