ILX Gen1 Picture Thread. All Trims All Colors

And Flightwriter I would simply suggest using different 3m tape. Use the kind that says auto body molding. It's black and has red 3m backing ... If you use the epoxy, it may damage the spoiler if you should want to remove it. And if it touches paint, the epoxy will eat the clear coat.
Last week, I also opted to remove the "ILX" badging... but, being in an odd mood, I then added a factory-look "2.0L" badge to the right of the license plate. Our 2.0 cars get such a bad rap throughout the automotive press and "enthusiasts" (on top of the ILX generally being derided as 'just' an Acura-ized Civic... as if that's a bad thing!) so this is my somewhat tongue-in-cheek shout-out that, hey, for some people the 2.0 is just fine!
Heeding a comment made a few months back by usdmJON, I also removed the "fakin' the funk" chrome exhaust tip. It looked ridiculous - down the road I might explore making a bumper pass-through for it as others have done.
I've wanted to get some better shots of the car with the spoiler back on, but Mother Nature chose this week to bless New Mexico with our first appreciable snowfall in 45 days, so it's been sitting in the garage...

Looks good. That 2.0 badge doesnt look half bad. I believe thats the placement of the hybrid badges so that works.
I threw some i-vtec decals on my rear lower panels where the si guys have theirs. Obviously rocking the 2.0 I got the SOHC badge so Im proudly sporting that. Thats my show that the 2.0 SOHC is just fine.

Thanks! Haha.
Hmmm.. As in the aero/lip kit? Yes. But I'm broke at the moment. Plans come and go, lets just be safe and say by the end of the year. It won't look the same, sound the same, or perform the same.
I post more on my IG than I do here. I just lurk around lol.

Rear exhaust looks great. I like the visible cross pipe in the rear. A beaks bar would give a real good look to the rear. Youd see it right underneath the exhaust pipe.

No way man. Id say its pretty much up to personal opinion right now.
I havent seen many people with MORE parts than you, just others with some similar some different. Be it aftermarket wheels but no coils, or lowered with some performance parts but stock wheels still. etc etc.

Yep 19's people - been saying it all along - go 19 for looks. Looks awesome in those wheel wells. No nasty gaps - and thats on springs. I like how the 8.5 is sitting flush with those fenders as well. Most likely no rubbing. All the tirerack/virtual wheel on your car websites/ were saying 19x8.5 was the biggest they recommend (I think to play it safe, no rubbing issues). I'm going for a similar color scheme. I love this look.

Another thing - this car looks mostly stock besides OEM lip kit, drop, and wheels. Yet it's still one of the best ILX's I've seen so far. I really liked the photoshopped dropped black ILX with black Ron john wheels too. Wheels are definitely a huge difference on this car - choose wisely people. I saw the 2 ILX's on instagram, one with purple plasti-dipped wheels, ad one with pink plastidipped wheels and emblems... All I'm saying is meth will eventually kill you, and if you are a real friend, you'll get those ILX owners some help.

Personally that black ILX looks too high on the 19s. Need to tuck rubber on the 19s or it they look kind of big in my opinion. I think 18s look more proportional at that height. Lower and 19s would be GOLD.

I know people get butthurt way too easy on here BUT here goes - although I really love how that black ILX looks with the Vossens, I wouldn't have gone with that spoke design. Not my favorite. I think once I get wheels I would want something with 5 spokes and a decent size lip (that depends on the wheel design, maybe 1 or 2 inches) or something meshy. I used to hate meshes, they are way harder to keep clean and to clean up after they are dirty. But I've seen some really nice designs. Comes down to preference. I like seeing people do their own thing, better then cookie cutter tuned cars. Kinda hate when everybody has the same wheels too...

As far as the black one sitting lower, this guy is only on springs, so if he went with coil overs the look you were talking about would be easily achieved. Would look good. I like the setup he's got tho. I prefer having clearance. I would love that type of setup for daily drivability. Good clearance, improved handling and looks, no nasty wheel well gaps, flush fitment (not hellaflush or other bs). I would only ever consider getting slammed if I had air ride, or I was purely tracking a car.

I think at that height 18in would look better. Unless he upgrades to some BBK and larger rotors, he'll always have all the space inside the wheel that bugs me.
I think 18in wheels without upgrading anything inside looks great.

I see what you are saying about the empty space. Went to the LTMW car meet and saw some exotics and cars with really big wheels. They had some of the biggest brake rotors and calipers I've ever seen. It would have looked naked or empty without the oversized rotors. I don't think meshies would have that issue either. Wheels with certain offsets or lips would also take out that empty space. Guess I gotta save up for a BBK as well, to make sure everything flows and looks right. Might as well switch it all out at once. I went to see about getting test fit for springs just now. Dude said he'll get back to me. I couldn't read him well. I'll give it till the end of the month when I get my exhaust, then I'll stop fighting the urge, and just buy some to get low with some spacers.

Hey, I'm the owner of the ILX on Vossen's. Just want to shed some light on the choice I made with this car(in no way do I get butthurt either). Firstly, I would agree with the 18" wheels being a better choice, but Vossen's smallest wheel is 19x8.5, so no go there. I went with the Vossen's because the dealership I work at has a deal with them and I got them for a good price rolled into the deal on the lease(its leased as part of an employee program). I would have personally chose the CV2 for this car with the black backing and machined face but they didn'tcome smaller than 20". The car was originally going to be put on coilovers, but I came across a great deal of a brand new set of the Eibach's locally as a quick fix for the monster truck stance. The drop is nicer then I thought it would be, so for now I'm happy with it and don't see the need for the extra money on the coils. I do daily it so I also don't want to be too low or have too much camber. Anyways, going to go put together a intro thread now.

Want to add that this car was purchased Tuesday, ordered the lip kit and tires for the wheels(had the decklid and wheels already here Tuesday), drove home all stock, came to work Wednesday, got the rest of the parts, started working on it about 5/5:30 after work and had it how it sits now by 10:30 Wenesday night.

Damn thats pretty cool. If I was getting a good price on some brand new Vossens I might've jumped on them too. I might end up doing something similar with wheels. I have no favorite wheels, just like nice wheels on nice cars. I've come across a few really good deals. Some wheels I just did not like the design tho. There was a guy selling lowenharts for like $700 bucks, looked new. Hated the design tho. Saw some SSR's for $1600 19X8.5 LOOKED GREAT. But $1600 is hard to part with, even when you have it saved up.

Parked beside this at Walmart. Getting out of my cousins Beetle (1.8T w/ 5 speed) I was able to see inside the ILX briefly and seen that it was a 2.4. Sweet!
Sorry about the bad quality.

I'm heading to Santa Barbara this weekend, so I'll probably try to get in a couple cool pictures then! I'm a terrible photographer when it comes to taking pictures of my car though hahah. It will be all on my Galaxy S4. As far as mods go:
-Black Vinyl Roof
-Front Underbody Spoiler
-Decklid Spoiler
-H&R Springs
-20mm, 25mm Spacers
