that's understandable, its very aggressive just the way i like it and tap of the pedal your off.

Anyone know if the 2016 Accord sprint booster is the same as TLX? My friend has one on his and he told me to find out if it works before uninstalling so I can try on my TLX to see the difference?

Compatible with the 2017 SH-AWD? Based on the reviews here, seems like I should get one too, haha. Any Canadian pricing?

Does the sprint booster have an option or setting to easily fall back to normal mode(as in how it was in stock normal/sport) without needing to disconnect it?

From the Sprint Booster page... difference between V2 and V3. https://www.sprintboostersales.com/V2-vs-V3.cfm

Also, the V3 MSRP is $290. Cheaper than the V2.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
V2 Special Features :
3 Acceleration modes (Off, Sport and Racing) *
3-Step, 5-minute Plug-n-Play installation
Available for both Automatic or Manual Transmissions
Designed for either Gas or Diesel car types (selected at purchase)
Securely fastens to Dashboard for easy access and acceleration selection mode.
Ultra compact size

V3 Special features :
3 Acceleration modes (Off, Sport and Racing) *
36 Acceleration programs (18 manual & 18 automatic transmissions)
Pedal lock mode
Valet mode
Ultra compact size / New Design
Plug n Play installationAdditional Sprint Booster V3 Features

Each mode (SPORT – RACE) comes with 9 steps-programs so the driver can choose the one that suits his driving style (18 programs for manual transmission & 18 programs for automatic transmission in total). This allows the driver to fine-tune each mode (SPORT – RACE) according his needs by selecting one of the nine different programs on each mode.
You can select 1-9 in SPORT mode (Green light) and 1-9 in RACE mode (Red light) with '1' being the least aggressive program and '9' the most aggressive one.

Each program adjusts the response by 3-6% so it can be fully adjustable and customized by each driver.

The Pedal Lock mode provides extra protection against unauthorized vehicle use. The driver can deactivate the acceleration ability of the vehicle when it's stationary through a 3 digit PIN. When Pedal lock is enabled the acceleration gets disabled and the vehicle stays on idle until you enter the correct PIN.
The Valet mode limits the acceleration of the vehicle by 55 % - 65% - 75% (comes in 3 selectable levels). It is activated/deactivated through a 3 digit PIN. By limiting the acceleration there will be a significant reduce in vehicle's performance (Power and Torque).

The compact size allows the driver to place the selector switch anywhere on the dashboard with the use of the double sided tape.

Memory. Sprint Booster also offers the option to the driver to completely remove the switch from the device. In this case the device will work with the last settings stored in memory. For example , if the driver disconnects the selector switch while in SPORT-5 (SPORT mode- Acceleration program 5), the device will keep as default the program SPORT-5.

*Both Sprint Booster Power Converters (V2 and V3) come with 3 Acceleration modes :
Off mode - Sprint Booster is deactivated. The response of the car has the factory settings. The LED of the Selector switch is OFF.
Sport mode - Sprint Booster provides improved response up to 30%. The LED of the selector switch in Sport mode is Green.
Race mode - Sprint Booster provides improved response up to 60%. The LED of the selector switch in Race mode is Red.

Install

How do you install the sprint booster on 2015 TLX? Do you have to remove the pedal? If so how? Any pictures or videos would help. I can't get my hand behind the pedal.

Hey it's pretty simple, i posted pics in the first couple of posts. it look me like 5 min to install and left the remote wire under my rug to under the seat. there is a plug on top of the gas pedal just unplug and plug in the booster and your good to go. my hand actually reached just fine.

I have the V2 and I love it. I can't compare to the V3 since I don't have it but it made a night and day difference for my car. I went from wanting to sell the TLX to having a smile every time I drive. Anyone who thinks this makes the car ultra sensitive to gas input probably grew up on automatic vehicles. Anyone who has driven a manual knows to modulate the gas like a feather in the lowest gear you want for power not just mashing the peddle. When I drive people around I keep it in red mode all the time and in sport or sport + mode and it is never jerky or "too much". If it is then teach your foot to modulate better.

I don't know for sure but it should. I wouldn't think Acura changed the throttle input plug from the 2015-2016 model.

V3 works great on my 2016! I do think it's about $100 over-priced. However, I will be keeping it. I'm completely satisfied with the way my car drives now.

Some pics of it installed. Went with a clean set up.

Used gorilla tape to keep the wire out of the way of the pedal. (not visible when entering and exiting the car)

Ran wire under carpet panel.

Used velcro to mount the controller.

I"ll be keeping mine too. The car is like a rocket now, especially when you are in 2nd gear, there is just pure power. it feels so much more nimble. passing other cars is so much more fun now.

Any word on how this helps us 2.4l 4 cyl folks? I may buy one for mine soon. Throttle is laggy after 1000k and changing wheels from 17's to 19's, feels less responsive specifically it feels like it takes longer to downshift and just go, RPMs go up quickly, the car doesn't respond until much later. Seems like there is no classic way of resetting the ECU either (at least that I can find.)

Huh ya they did release that too. Does that require a shop to tune? Definitely never used ktuner products. Now I'd like to know the answer to both our questions haha

Hey guys,
I have a 2016 TLX 3.5 V6 (base) and was curious if the SprintBooster also made a difference when in Sport+ mode? I noticed that they advertize that the SprintBooster has programs for auto and manual... but seeing that there is no manual TLX in existence, do the 'manual' programs apply to only Sport+ mode? Or does it not apply at all?

I've heard people claim this product reduces the downshift lag considerably when stomping on the accelerator... Is this true? If so, I'm curious as to how it does this, as my understanding is that the lag is mostly caused by the transmission design.

I really want to try this, but ~$300 seems a bit steep for something that appears to only adjust the pedal sensitivity... Unless this also manages to force the throttle body to physically open faster than what stock allows, I just don't see how there is any real improvement?

Thanks for any opinions!

Hi,

Do you notice that the throttle is able to open faster with this product installed? I've been told that it's the ECU that determines how fast the throttle body opens, based on the pedal position. If the sprintbooster sits between the pedal and the ECU, I'm curious how it forces the ECU to do anything different than what it would normally do. If the throttle body opens at a predetermined rate at 100% pedal position (without a sprintbooster), won't the exact same thing happen with the Sprintbooster - just with less pedal travel?

Thanks!

The only thing sprint booster does is reduce how far you have to push the pedal to get the same amount of acceleration. Yes I guess just in the surface hat doesn't sound that special but let me put it this way. How many times have you been driving along and you push the pedel down and you don't feel anything so after a second you push a little further then you get the downshift and acceleration you were looking for. The sprint booster skips it the first step. They for some odd reason designed the car to ignore throttle input sensitivity as if thinking, "are you sure you don't want to just save gas and not accelerate?" It works in sport plus also(the mode I drive in most). The sprint booster eliminates throttle lag completely in sport + mode and mostly in regular mode. When I say mostly it is because the car still has to disengage the dog tooth clutch in gear 5 and 7 before dropping to a lower gear. If you were already in 4th gear then you would get instant acceleration. Again for redundancy sake the car will accelerate much better in lower gears through the peak torque curve. The car will do it much quicker with sprint booster because like I said it eliminate the way we have been trained to drive. Push a little if you feel nothing push some more. We have trained our foots to do this unlike a brand new driving otherwise the cars we drive would lurch forward with acceleration and not be smooth. I really do think Acura did everything they could to train the ECU to reduce throttle input and responsiveness for the sake of emissions and gas mileage. Now the sprint booster does not affect the ECU directly but if you drop into a lower gear faster by pushing the throttle pedel once instead of twice then the ECU will respond to the lower gear as programmed faster.

If still in doubt or it still doesn't make sense just buy it or don't. After I purchased and experienced what it can do. I think I would by this for every car in the future that I own because it is that good. If you have too much sensitivity then dial it back or turn it off.

Thank you so much for your input! This makes good sense to me and is exactly what I was thinking it did. I have heard reviews that say it "somehow" manages to force the throttle body open faster, but I just don't see how that could be possible. Regardless, having to push the throttle... wait... then push a little more to get what I want is definitely annoying. If this reduces/eliminates that, then I know why people like this product so much. It's too bad Acura doesn't offer some way to do the same via the ECU without having to go through a 3rd party tuner.

Thanks again! I think I'll be ordering one soon
