XLR8 vs ATLP Opinions Please

This is the one I'm recommending if your looking for that sound it's not loud but have a deep sound to it. Get 2 of theses and use either your stock tips or do what most guys do here get the dual exhaust tip from EBAY.
Borla 40941 Racing Muffler 40941 at StreetSide
This the J-Pipe
https://www.heeltoeauto.com/xlr8-per...e-fwd-ua8.html
This is the one I have
Buy the Borla 40357 Pro XS Muffler from StreetSide
It's not loud it has the sound of I have something and you have to have an ear for exhaust to know. I am going to upgrade to a different one same company and put this one on my wife Accord.
Now at the end of the day it your money your car. I ain't familiar with NYC but if HEARTLs say NY porkies can be an ass then my recommendation to you is this. Get J-pipe and get the Borla in the first link I send you (That site $25 OFF $275 or more. Use code:SMOKE) and they have free shipping. Now with the Borla I have I took the resonators off after a yr because I felt it was to quiet. Cant lie it sounds better but slight drone is there. When you get this exhaust install take your resonators and mid muffler (think FWD have it) off and see how you feel about it. If you feel that drone is to loud put it back on and you will be fine. To my knowledge you going to be the first one with the XR-1'S on here if you do decided to go with it send us a clip. Also make sure you fine a good Exhaust Performance Shop.

By using this method, will there be any welding job done? I heard the dual exhaust tip from EBAY will definitely have some welding job involved, what about the Borla Muffler? After all the recommendations, I think J-Pipe will be mandatory in my situation, I was also thinking about doing a oil consumption test with my dealership after my next oil change, if anything goes wrong I am also worried the dealership will void my powertrain warrantee after the MOD. But I want some deep tone so bad!

An exhaust shouldn't void your warranty. It's not like you're removing any sensors, or anything.

Yes welding is involved that why I would say go to a good exhaust shop. Borla and the tips will need to be weld on. You don't need the J-pipe to be honest but it's a nice power deeper tone upgrade. Why the oil consumption test? And no from the J-Pipe back you will be fine. Will not void warranty least from the dealers I been to.

Here's my experience with XLR8, absolutely love it. Go big or go home, ATLP $1500 for exhaust that no one will look twice at when they hear it.

Just like "TacoBello" have said
"OP, buy something. Whatever you like. Get it installed. See if you like it. If not, take it off, put your stock exhaust back on and sell the other one. I'm sure you would get most of your money back if you don't like it. Or, sell it, again, at a minor loss and try another brand. Count it as a lesson learned."
Since I really don't want to do any welding job to my exhaust system due to the risk of losing more value to my car, I have decided go for ATLP full cat back exhaust. I am not really sure if I'm gonna like it or not, I have to say I am nervous! PS: does anyone know if I can disassemble my OEM exhaust system into small parts?

So I just bought the ATLP pipe, Heeltoe Auto told me it is going to be a newer version and it would sound somewhat different. Marcus was very knowledgable and willing to work out a lot of stuff with me, will not receive the shipment until Christmas. I'll let you guys know what happens till then!

OP, are you FWD or AWD?
I think you're gonna be happy with the ATLP catback. I drove a 4G with just an ATLP exhaust and compared to the XLR8 on my 4G; exhaust note is more tame. XLR8 has a higher pitch note, whereas ATLP is lower pitch. Having said that, I love the sound on both but prefer the XLR8. I enjoy starting up the car every time lol.
As stated above, please report back your initial impressions.
EDIT: I think it's the resonated version he talked about.

Good pick on the exhaust. I have the ATLP and it sounds amazing. Cross my heart I had a guy follow me over 20 minutes out of his way just to find out what exhaust I have and tell me that it sounds amazing. He said it sounds like a Maserati (I swear), but that is of course subjective.
I did put resonators on my simply because of my age and my lovely wife but it still sounds amazing. After 3 years it still puts a smile on my face.
Good luck and keep us up to date of what you think. (give it some time to break in as well)

Rubbing issue!
So in the mean while, as I am waiting for my ATLP pipes to come in. I bought a set of rimes and tires from "JTL12" Niche Verona M150 20x10 20x9 with Toyo Proxes 4 Plus.
Here is the link below
https://acurazine.com/forums/car-par...-4g-tl-939205/
Overall the handling is lighter than my 17" stock rims, but as i am running stock height I found that I rub sometimes going over drops or making aggressive turns on hill. I am definitely going to rub if someone is sitting on my back seat or something heavy in the trunk.
Here is some pictures.
Additionally, here is a picture when I am parking on a incline.
The previous owner told me he never rubbed even lowered...
But what the hell am I experiencing now? I saw so many threads that you 4G guys run 255/35/20 at stock height and doesn't rub. Then why am I experiencing this?

You are rubbing because the rear tire is touching the plastic tab that holds the rear quarter panels and bumper cover. You will need to shim it down with a dremel a little bit.

So is there a difference between the old altp vs the new "improve" version? Other than they way it sounds?

We only just started shipping our V2 Quads for the AWDs last week, if I am not mistaken. The new one does have a resonated option. Also, the muffler canisters are a little longer, as are the tips. Lastly, the mufflers hang just a tad lower, so as to clear the bumper a little better.
All great improvements! Pics to come...

I doubt it's as quiet as stock. Wouldn't be worth the money. Be better off sticking with the oem exhaust and adding quad tips.

Here is the latest release on the ATLP V2 Quad for the 4th Gens. For the record, we did not think they were too loud, but customers' feedback drove this change:
Product Update: Announcing the ATLP V2 Quad Cat-Back Exhaust for SH-AWD TLs
And, speaking of answering our customers' demands....
ATLP Prefab V2 Muffler Box, Pair, 2009-14 Acura TL (ALL)
Product Update: Announcing the ATLP V2 Quad Cat-Back Exhaust for SH-AWD TLs
ATLP has long been a brand of desire for Acura owners. The distinctly European-styled, handcrafted tips are made from raw tubing in the USA for each and every system. The muffler canisters are constructed from raw materials with packing material imported from Germany. The result is a look and sound that is unlike anything else available for the modern Acura and Honda car.
The ATLP offering for the 2009-14 Acura TL Base FWD and SH-AWD TL has stood apart as one of the most sought-after exhaust systems on the market. A large-capacity 3” section splitting to a dual 2.25” tailpipe configuration* into the single-in, dual out mufflers has proven to gain power and give the car an aggressive growl, without sounding obnoxious. Terminating in massive, quad 4” tips, the ATLP Quad Cat-Back for 4th generation TL’s has class and style that competitors simply cannot match.
ATLP V2 Quad SH-AWD system pictured.
And for 2016, the ATLP SH-AWD TL Quad-tip system has evolved. Amid resounding praise, some owners of Automatic-transmission equipped TLs found that additional sound deadening would make this great system even better.
So we are now offering the system with optional, custom-made, hand-built resonators in the tail sections. These auxiliary mufflers are specifically designed to reduce interior sound levels in the dreaded 1500-2500 rpm range, where automatic transmissions for engines to reside during normal driving.
We also made minor tweaks to the muffler boxes themselves, adding a bit of length to both the canister and the tips, allowing a slightly more balance look when users are installing Genuine Acura A-Spec lip packages.
These mufflers are included in all Base FWD and SH-AWD systems, starting in 2016.
The enhancements we made to the ATLP SH-AWD system were enough that we are re-releasing it as the ATLP V2 Quad Cat-Back system. We still refer to the Base FWD system without the "V2," even though it does come with V2 mufflers now.
Find them both on sale on Heeltoeauto.com today!
*SH-AWD Models. Base FWD are 2.5" systems splitting to dual 2.25" tailpipes.

ive had it for over 3 years and i can tell you.. it is still my prefered exhaust.. ive heard all of the available exhaust already and atlp still the best one IMO. xlr8 is nice but not for a DD.. its just too loud and cabin nose is increased.
