I did this years ago when I first started getting into modifying cars. At the time I had an EG and started to mess around with little things.
Mind you, I was in high school, like 17 years ago. One thing you could do just to have the sound and not pay anything is to make a gap between your muffle and the B-Pipe.
I forget if these cars have the 1/2" exhaust washers, but I used that to gap the two pipes just enough to still secure the exhaust together or you could stack a bunch of washers too.
Before flamers come out and laugh and blah blah blah, I was in high school, in 1999 with little to no budget and I was messing around
This doesn't do anything in performance and its just for sound. Good Luck!
And WELCOME to AZ! Lots of good info here! With that, everyone is going to tell you, use the SEARCH function.

^^ I agree with justnspace removing the mid-muffler.
With that, if you're going to get a full exhaust in the coming months anyway and on a budget, I wouldn't replace the mid-muffler and keep your stock parts intact. IMO.
Whichever way you choose, good luck with it!

Just deleting resonators or mufflers may make the car louder, but it won't provide a quality sound. Our catback exhaust is manufactured and designed to function as a complete unit and offer an exotic and unique sound that will also be louder than stock. Our exhausts are also manufactured here in the US from stainless steel and are mandrel bent and TIG welded for unmatched performance and fitment.

why the heck would you spend $40 here, $60 there.....JUST to scrap it and get an exhaust....
Priorities are needed.
Leave it be until you have the full amount for the full catback exhaust

as LONG as you dont straight pipe the motherfucker, it will sound like a decent v6 engine rumble.

1. Keep your Resonators delete the Mufflers... You will get sound and it does not sound bad.
2. Swap Mufflers and delete your Resonator
3. Buy a Aftermarkets Cat Back system.

I STRONGLY recommend PCD with full stock exhaust.
Best sound, no fuel smell, no rasp, no drone, more power.
Pair that with a k-tuner and tune and you have 95% of the gains you can get out of the car. Leave the rest and get some sticky tires with coil-overs.

I concur with suspekt360. Do the pre cat deletes with stock exhaust and see how it suits your fancy. I did that and am happy with the sound. I think it even improved the MPG. It's only been a few 1000 KM so far.
Next step is a Ktuner for me.

Jpipe is recommended in addition to PCD's to net more power but that's when you start introducing rasp and smell. Not sure about the drone since it's factory exhaust. My setup has all of thee above but I love the sound, drone is usually always there with an aftermarket exhaust unless you go for the resonated exhaust. Mine is mainly raspy after letting off the throttle after pushing it due to back pressure. While pushing the throttle it sounds more exotic in a good way. Especially top of the RPM band.
I would say my setup isn't for everyone but PCD's is the way to go. I also love the jpipe when it comes to power. I couldn't restrict it after opening the entire exhaust up. Ktuner is a must.

Best bang for your buck PCD, Ktuner, Drop in filter. It's been shown on this forum and driveaccord.net that the Jpipe don't give you that kind of power.
My setup is HFC with the CERAMIC Coating, XLR8 J pipe (Thanks to suspekt360.), and Ktuner with the Borla as the Mufflers. I love how my car sounds. I got the HFC just because I got a little one and ain't want her smelling that fumes when she cruising with me. And ain't really want that rasp bucket effect.
If I was running PCD I would keep the stock J pipe.. Just to kill the smell and chill on the rasp. Or buy one used if someone selling at a decent price.

Mine does not smell inside the cabin or when the windows are down. Only during cold starts and it isn't crazy bad.

J-Pipe. We've got them. Have positive feedback from people who have purchased them. It really boils down to personal preference but haven't heard anything negative at all.
