teasers...
got some new items and getting ready to get them going!
got the flashpro from vittuned.com and am working with vit on my e-tune. just sent him a 3rd gear pull for an e-dyno number before I install the HFPCs. then I will do another after HFPCs, and then a last e-dyno after I get my tune complete. pretty excited!
had to send my flashpro into hondata for them to put in new firmware since their current software didn't recognize my ECU and couldn't datalog without a laptop, 1 day turnaround and it's working great and can datalog standalone
ceramic coated HFPCs from richie...

hopefully these are the last 2 mods I do
did a 3rd gear pull and sent my data log to Vit and he sent me back an e-dyno. i know it's not like a shop dyno but I'm mainly using this so I can see relative gains between stock ECU (quads and j-pipe), HFPCs, and then all of those plus a tuned ECU. excited to see how it turns out!

oh i know, i've said it before maybe one day it will actually happen!
thanks! it will be good to get up all the e-dyno graphs and see how they are relative to each other
haha thanks man, that thing is so simple but it's saved me so many times already! the "free" credit card flashlight is pretty cool too

it's been a while since i posted!
so i found a place locally in SD that hydro dips and figured i would give them a shot. they just did my engine cover and i'll prob have them do all my engine bay covers. not the best quality since they had to use 2 sheets to cover the big piece but still came out looking fairly good. i actually really like it!
will put up pics soon with it on in the engine bay once i get my red oil cap from ebay

Seems to be a better match to the interior carbon trim on the TL than opposed to real CF. I've always been interested in the hydro-dipping option but never pulled the trigger.
Looks good. Props to you!

thanks!
cost me $100 which is actually a really good price for hydro dipping since some other places were quoting $200 to $300 which is waayy too much haha. he said he can do the rest of the covers for 100, so 200 total. another member on here got his done for 500 or so but that's too much IMO for something under the hood haha
thanks! yea i like how it looks mostly because it came out darker than i expected. i'm going to get the rest of the covers done and hopefully it won't look too busy under the hood. i found these guys on craigslist randomly looking for general "acura tl" stuff haha

I wanted to get that done, and the guy here quoted me $500 for all my engine panels. I couldn't justify spending the money on something that is only seen once in a while. But it looks great on your car, I like the pattern you chose.

Sockr, that looks outstanding. Definitely have him do all your engine panels.
Matt, if you want your panels painted a color, I can set you up with my guy who did mine.

i've done some minor things here and there with my car and eventually i'll get it all on here, but for now here is how my hydro dipped engine bay turned out. everything was dipped with a CF pattern and then with a high temp gloss coat. also added an ebay oil cap.
this isn't how my engine bay will sit in the end because i also ordered an AEM V2 intake to complement my full exhaust and flashpro
if anyone is in San Diego and interested in getting something dipped, let me know and I can pass along the info for the guys that dipped my stuff
thanks! the guys cut me a deal and i ended up getting everything in the bay for a good price, pretty happy with it
done! thanks, thought you would like the red oil cap too haha
thanks! coming from you that means a lot, your car is pretty sick

Yes-that looks very familiar.
I wish your guy wasn't in San Diego. I would take you up on that offer.

thanks for the compliments on the steering wheel and the engine bay paint job. more pics of both to come but for now here are some more pics of the steering wheel. my camera battery died but hopefully on monday i can get some installed pics up.
it was expensive, but i love the steering wheel upgrade, it makes the type s feel like a type s should. very solid feel and the red stitching matches the interior very well. i was worried it would stand out too much but if definitely does not.
small plug: i'll be selling my spare type s steering wheel soon on the BM if anyone is interested
company: dallassteeringwheel.com (they did a few other members on here as well...Don is a stand up guy and does GREAT work, and fast)
price: about $400 (expensive but you feel it everyday...)
details: perforated sides, nappa leather top and bottom, red baseball stitch, 1/8" padding
no comparison!
