As I posted in the other thread...

Here are the results of updating my Treo 650 (GSM/ATT&T/Cingular):

It works! I was able to call numbers from the car's phone book and receive a call. I also successfully transferred calls to and from the car. It pairs up immediately when I start the car. Like the Sprint update, though, there is no signal or battery strength meters. There is just an antenna icon on the display, but no further info. Caller ID works, too. As far as I can tell, it is the same functionality as the Sprint version now.
I have had the Treo 650 GSM (Cingular) for one week and added the update patch (web address for patch came with the phone). Discovery and functionality have been just fine with exception of no signal strength or battery displayed. I am happy.

Actually bluenoise, when I read your post I realized one thing that does not work as expected. The phone links within address book and address in the Navi are "greyed-out" so can not use (I have the '05 RL). Can you make calls from your Navi or just the HFL phone?

So what about the SE P910a? Answers seem a little vague.

Thanks for the link, but I did check it out before. Most of the psots were made regarding the TL. And most were made before the RL even hit the showrooms. So, it is still unclear to me if the P910a will work in the RL.

Mark,

I really forgot you're RL owner. Oopa. You're right about this. We ain't sure if RL is "really" capable of working with P910i/P910a. We assume RL has the similar HFL system as TL does based on teh info we have heard and got from Acura. This is why we have the conclusion. If P910a is able to work with 3GTL, it "may" work with 2G RL. I'll ask MOD mobilezen to "test" it out if he can.

Cingular SX66

Has anyone been able to connect the SX66 Siemens phone to the TL yet. I just purchased mine last Friday and I can pair it but I am unable to get full functionalality out of it. Sometimes it will connect and I can have a conversation but sound quality is very poor. Most times it just loses connection. I have preformed the lastest ROM update from Siemens that came out a few weeks ago but that has not helped. Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

SX66 working now

I just wanted to update everyone on the SX66 from Cingular. At first it would not work with my TL but after downloading the ROM update at Siemens web site (easy install)

http://communications.siemens.com/cd...0.html#content

I found the Radio ROM update to 1.06 and the Bluetooth Stack 3900 build at the XDA Developers web site

http://forum.xda-developers.com/front_page.php

Once all of these were updated everything works great. No signal or battery indicator (to be expected) but working fine.

Just another note, the Jabra 200 works great with the phone as well after all of these updates. I have informed Siemens as to the problems I was experiencing and as the steps I have taken to correct the problems. They seemed more receptive the second time I called to let them know that I fixed it without them. There comment was they only support the Siemens Headset and no others. How convenient.

Hope this helps anyone with the SX 66. Enjoy, Dominique

Motorola Razr V3

I bought a Razr 10 days ago. It linked up with the car and a few minutes and it works great. It shows all the info in the MID except for the battery.

Post Treo650

I had read in a previous thread that someone had tested the Treo650.

I just got back from my local Cingular store, where a rep took a new 650
out to my '05 TL.

We paired and then tried to test the phone.

Could receive 1 call, but was unable to place calls. HFL indicated "no paired phones", yet the display (above the Navi) still showed hands free link was active.

We checked the Multi Info display and it appeared that the pairing was gone.

I contacted Acura HFL support, who indicated they were testing the phone and officially did not support it.

Has anyone been successful in getting this phone paired, kept it paired,
AND--- able to both receive and make calls?

I'm glad I didn't buy it first.

Just ordered one from Amazon last night...$389 upfront with $200 in rebates...thinking $189 isn't too bad for this phone...

I am an existing Cingular customer (my contract expired last month)...there is a chance that I might be able to talk a CS person into letting my keep my old number (since the rebates are only good for new subscribers)...if not, no big deal....

Treo 650 works (apply patch first)

good news on Treo 650. Applied PalmOne patch to Treo and re-paired.

No problems making and receiving calls.

Display lacks battery meter and although you get a signal strength
meter - it has no bars.

Only issue found so far is storing a number with pauses. When it called it, it locked up the Treo and then re-set it.

So far so good.

Canadian TL'ers - Blackberry 7100r or 7290?

Anyone using Blackberry 7100r or 7290 with Rogers Wireless in Ontario? Getting my TL in a couple of weeks. My boss agreed to upgrade my current company phone to a Bluetooth phone and suggested I consider a Blackberry.

Just wondering if anyone is using either of these 2 with their TL and how well they work - sound quality and info. displayed in the MID?

Right now I'm favouring the 7100r due to it's more compact size.

Thanks

Just wanted to say that I had a Sony Ericsson T608 on Verizon and it paired with the system although the phone and reception was terrible here in Los Angeles.

I replaced it today with a Motorola V710 and it paired after resetting the bluetooth setup options using "Clear." It shows the signal strength, battery, etc. It's not a terrible phone, actually works decently.

With the Treo locked with TealLock I can receive calls but cannot make them. Tealpoint is stumped. Can all of you make calls with the Treo locked with the native security app?

verizon claims the V710 with the newest firmware, 1.40.0, DOES work with the TL/RL and DOES show batt and signal meters, and Roaming status.

http://www.verizonwireless.com/pdfs/...105-to-Web.pdf

what i dont understand is... it says "n/a" for the caller ID, and at the bottom of the chart it says "n/a" means the function is not availble by the car.... but yet in the TL brochure, they specifically show a phone number. Anyone who has the V710 (either firmware) verify that the caller ID does show up???

Awesome... my phone should be here early next week, and the TL should be here today or tomorrow... so you (SonicDark) don't have any troubles? transfering from car to handset and handset to car, answering calls, placing calls, etc... it all works well??

the TL SHOULD be on their truck now, they're getting it from Kansas City, I live in Wichita, KS. So, I'll probably be able to get it tomorrow... I better be able to! they've kinda taken their time, considering I told them last saturday (april 16th) that I would do it... just find me the one I want... I don't think he even looked for one until monday or tuesday... danced around until today, and they were supposed to drive up there today (they own ~3 trucks, and KC is only 2.5 to 3hrs away). I'm gonna be pretty upset if it's still not here by tomorrow. don't mean to vent... I'm just anxious

And for anyone curious, my OTD price "should" be $35,272, that's the car price of 33,556, then tax and fees (tax is 6.3%). I'll be able to say for sure after tomorrow (or whenver it does actually get here) when I do the paperwork and sign.... I'm gonna be pretty ticked if they try to add in additional prices in now b/c they wrote it out already... so it better not change.

No. It is not. Nextel has a blackberry which is BT compatible and there is the i605 (candy bar style) phone that is coming out soon which also has BT.

As of today, (4/24) the above Acura link tells me that the Verizon Motorola V710 is NOT compatible with the TL. They say they are testing the V815, but that no phones from Verizon are compatible at this time. What happened?

Nokia 6255i

New phone, just hitting the market.

Bluetooth 1.1 compatible and I've successfully paired it to my 3G TL. Only shows antenna and phone icon. No battery, no signal strength. Haven't had a chance to see if caller ID works or not.

In all other respects it works with the Handsfree Link.

V710 is supposed to work well with the new firmware, but Acura never really put it into their list since many ppl have problems with this model. Most of phones on Acura list are ready to work with HFL as easily as you hook them up with TL/RL.

Unhappy Nokia 6600

I bought this phone unlock and my service provider is Cingular, I paired it succesfully and my problem is everytime I make or receive a call, the person who I am speaking to can hear me but I cannot hear them, I have to use the phone speaker to hear, their voice does not come out of the car speaker. Does anybody know if there is a fix for this? Any firmware upgrade? Will appreciate your help!

All three work with the TL. Preference is the BlackBerry(-ies).

All Moto phones are complete Shit in my opinion.

Had Verizon update the software on my v710 from the .03 to the .04 and now I get signal strength and battery status. Still does not seem to be able to access the v710 phonebook from HFL. Miss that feature from my last car which, while not bluetooth, had a handsfree system that synched with the phonebook whenever the phone was docked in the car... but it didn't have 270 smooth horsepower.

I had the firmware update installed last night (8700_01.400R) and now my phone will not pair with the car. The old version worked but no signal or battery level. Is there a setting on the phone that was changed when the new version was installed. Any suggestions???

Make sure you aren't holding down the "Talk" button on the steering wheel. Once the call is active, you don't need to touch any buttons until you hang up.

I have two phones that I have successfully made calls out with.

Blackberry 7290 - Cingular... Shows signal & Battery
Nokia 3620 - Suncom... No signal strenght or Battery

I'll update this more regarding caller ID, etc. when someone calls me in the car. I'm just not that popular.
