MEGUIRES!!!! Full auto pain restoration detail 2005 TL
Yesterday I spent over 10 hours detailing to breathe new life into my TL's paint. It had heavy oxidation, yellow headlights, and paint so dull you could barely see the color yet alone the metallic flake. I used meguires ultimate compound, meguires ultimate polish, meguires clay bar kit, and sealed it up with meguires ultimate wax. Now the car went from a 4/10 on paint, to at least an 8.5/10. And I couldn't be happier! Posted will be before and after pictures! I can't even tell it's the same car, my TL has never been this clean in 2 years of owning it!!
You can actually tell the headlights are HID's now!
That metallic flake 😍

It's Meguiars, not Meguires.
Did you do the polishing by hand or machine?

Those curbed wheels could use another coat of paint or plastidip too.

i paid $100 for a 2 stage buff and wax job... i dropped my car off in the morning and picked it up 8 hours later
Attachment 101295
and here it is after a few months later.. i washed it down and used a quick spray wax to maintain the paint
Attachment 101296
cars looking good nonetheless, having a clean pair of headlights always does wonders to the overall look of anycar

I don't know where you guys are getting two stage correction done for $100-200. They're either whacking it with fillers so it looks good till the first wash or they have illegals doing the work. A full clay, wash, one step correction, sealant app is going to take one person all day (longer for black) so in the 100-200 range, overhead must be super low. I could see a guy working out of his garage, under the table, doing a decent single stage job for two bills.

Yes...I've heard many people tell me they detail cars and that they charge almost nothing...
then I ask them if they do correction and polish and they say yes...
then I ask how and they say with a bonnet handheld buffer to apply the turtle wax after washing and even cleaning the rims! OH MY !!!
then I just chuckle and think, man, I'm jealous that that's your idea of perfection and you're satisfied with the outcome.
OCD is a developed problem...

Honestly I can't see 2 stage/3stage quality work on paint correction cheaper than $200. I did once on my IS300 and its a whole day job.

105 review 5 stars, been around since 1998
im not the type of person to bring my car to some stranger's house garage to have them work on my car... this is a legit business that has at least 8-10+ employees from what i could i see
i asked for a sample of their work before i committed to have my car serviced there and they showed me a few cars they were working on that day.. they gave me a break down of everything and what they were going to do and even gave me a ride back to my house since i only lived 10 miles away
yeah its a all day job.. but when you have 2 to 3 people working on a single car it cuts the work down significantly

Very perplexed at the negativity and general level of asshattery on this thread. I think most of us are used to the general snarkiness here...but damn it is getting bad. The OP doesn't appear to be doing anything idiotic like using wheel cleaner so what's with the hazing?

Hey, I did actually think it was pretty awesome and brave that even though he has a big imperfection in the car, he still took the pride and effort to clean her up the best he could.
Actually, now that I think about that, I think I love him...
so many people just give up so easily...or don't bother.
I remember my first car I took *pride* in...a 97 accord...had some scratches on the hood...so I had the auto broker I bought it from paint it over and being young and naive I just let them have it FIXED for 100 bucks. Needless to say, it looked like raw unwiped asshole within 2 months when the shit clear they used failed...but you know what...I was out there every weekend washing and waxing her trying to make her look as good as I could and not focus on the problem. Eventually I got it repainted with a single stage budget job...learned another lesson there
what I did learn after that is that when I did get a car with good paint, I'd do everything in my power to keep it that way...
and every once in a while I need a reminder that we all started somewhere and not to be snooty and snobby to other people that are younger or still learning new stuff. Ahh...to be young and starry eyed again, what we wouldn't give. We're getting old and ornery!
Love what you got...
keep on keepin on, my friend.
