p0118 and p0128 - which ect sensor is this?
Not sure which ect sensor needs to be replaced with the po118 and p0128 codes. Called acura and they said it could be one of many. The temp gauge is higher than normal but car has not over heated. Thanks in advance

The codes you gave are for 2 different sensors. First thing to do is make sure the connectors to the sensors are connected tightly, with no corrosion. Do you have access to a live data scanner? What is the temp showing when the temp gauge is higher than normal?

Po118
Possible causes
- Low engine coolant level
- Faulty Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
- Faulty engine coolant thermostat
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical circuit poor connection
Po128
Possible causes
- Leaking or stuck open thermostat
- Low engine coolant level
- Insufficient warm up time
- Faulty engine coolant temperature sensor
- Engine coolant temperature sensor harness is open or shorted
- Engine coolant temperature sensor circuit poor electrical connection
You can try cleaning the oxidation off of the ECT by scrubbing it with a Scotch Brite pad and keptup. Yes keptup.

ect sensor sits between the egr valve and throttle body . on a cold engine it takes 5 min to replace . check to make sure that you have proper coolant level and no leaks .i had a mdx with those codes . low coolant due to a leaking radiator. changed radiator and replaced thermostat and ect just to be sure . No problems since
