not personally, but others seem pleased with them and I think they will likely help with your shipping concerns

I'm curious to see how much brake dust these produce. I know OEM tries to offer the perfect compromise of noise, stopping power, brake dust so seeing how these hold up down the road is intriguing.

I'll take extra noise and dust any day to get performance.

My Brakemotive ceramic pads produce very small amount of dust, almost immeasurable.

Any updates?? Would like to know how these brakes are holding up as I am in the market for a new set of pads(Hopefully can get away with resurfacing my current rotors).

The brakes are still great! At the $180 price point including 4 slotted/cross drilled rotors, 8 ceramic pads and shipping, there's no need to resurface your old rotors.

I've had the brakes since January of this year. Typically I drive about 14,000 miles per year and it's been about three months, so I'd say I have about 3,500 miles on them. We had a harsh winter (a ton of snow, good amount of rain and sub zero temp), and they have held up nicely.

Good luck and I am sure you won't be disappointed.

If these have better stopping power, pretty sure they are, and they won't rust, you're looking at a future buyer of these. And, they will look nice!

I read on some website that with any slotted rotor there will be some vibration during aggressive stops and a whirring noise during braking. Some have even described it as a playing card in the spokes of a bicycle wheel. Has anyone experienced this with these rotors?

Is there any truth that all drilled rotors will crack at the flange of the hole? If so, are they just surface cracks that don't affect performance?

For what it's worth, my blank rotors had fractures in them so I don't think it's a big deal.

Yes, the slotted rotors are louder under aggressive braking. It's nothing major though.

Not the best lighting, but you should be able to see the rotors.

The first pic is the front wheel and the second is the rear.

i just had my brakemotive rotors & pads installed last weekend...all 4 wheels...so far so good.

thanks for the recommendation phantom! they look really good, stopping power seems to be slightly better than stock, but i don't drive or brake aggressively.

the pics helped. are they noticeable from afar? i mean, can you see that they are cross-drilled and slotted from a distance.

Depending on your wheel pattern. On my OEM wheels, you can tell they are cross drilled and slotted from 5ft away. I didn't buy these for their looks, I bought them because of their performance.

These brakes are "louder" than blank rotors because of the slots. Is it a grinding noise or more of a humming noise from the slots hitting against the pads?

This was part of the reason I went OEM again on my TLS. I might have given them a try if they were only slotted, but was leary of the combination.

I've had these brakes since January, so around seven months and about 9,000 miles, and the rotors are not warped. Yes, they got louder, but I knew that was going to be the case anyway. The braking power is measurably better than OEM, and that was important to me.

I just put these on this past weekend as well and am very happy so far. The manufacturer of the pads that came with my BrakeMotive rotors was "powerstop" regardless - they're working great and look great - I'll try to circle back and update as i can!

Any further updates Mr Phantom, or anyone else who has bought the brakemotive brake set for the RL?
Thank you in advance.

Right before I traded my RL I had it in the shop troubleshooting a constant vibration from 70MPH and on, and they found one of the rear rotors warped. Other than that, the brakes were acceptable, but a really good value for the price. I did replace the rear rotors but that didn't fix my vibration issue.

Yikes.. what did you replace your rotors with?
I m thinking I will not go with the cross drilled/slotted rotor option just because after about 10000 Miles they will have to be replaced and cant be resurfaced..thinking of going with Centric Parts 120.40067 Premium Brake Rotor with E-Coating for 38+ shipping w/ Akebono ACT1091 ProACT Ultra-Premium Ceramic Front Brake Pads all around.
Thoughts? Thanks.

If you are going to keep the RL for a while, I'd but better brakes. What I paid for the whole set was cheap enough for me to give it a shot and see what happens. I ended up getting rid of the RL shortly after, which I had already thought would happen, anyway. For what it's worth, I had a set of Rotora slotted rotors in the past, and they were the best rotors I've ever used.

Good luck!!

brakes are such an important part of the car, I would not mess around buying cheap. Go with a reputable company always, these eBay rotors and brake pads are made in china and we don't know their quality control on these parts. Get parts from Hawk, Centric and other reputable brands.
