Rearview Mirror - Dimming

How can I check if the auto dimming rearview mirror is working on my '16 RDX?
My daughter has a '14 and it has an on/off button and a LED that glows green to indicate it's on.
Mine has the LED but it is never lit and it does not have an on/off button, from what I can find it works automatically.

If anyone has the mirror without a switch, can you let me know if the green LED works. Also is there some way to test if the mirror functions properly.
Right now headlights seem to glare quite a bit and I know the mirror suppose to be auto dimming (no flipper on bottom).
Thanks

Shine a light using your phones flash on it to see if it dims

Is there a way to turn it off permanently, mine always comes back on (green light) when I turn on the car.

Look at the back of the mirror, there is a cable looks like a phone cable, unplug it will disconnect the power to the mirror. Since for RDX, there is no other functionalities on the mirror (such as, HomeLink buttons, direction, ...), the cable is for dimming only.
