2016 Acura RDX Car Battery Replacement DIY

Hey Guys,

I know it's been a while since my last post and video, but I have been super busy with the newborn, so time is even more limited for me. (So please excuse me for any late replies)

But I finally finished my second Acura RDX DIY video. This time it is on how to replace the car battery. I know it is very intuitive already, but in case for those that don't know. Also there is a nice little info in the end about your Navigation System code unlock. So hope this video will help if you ever run into that problem. Let me know what you guys think.

Thank you guys and let's get fixing!

P.S. The original battery lasted only 4 years before I had to replace it. I'm sure I could've recharged the battery and it would have lasted me a bit longer, but since this was my wife's car, I didn't want to risk having her get stranded again and call for a tow service.

Interesting; us older guys tend to think that we already know how to do a lot of car-related things, but it doesn't hurt to get it laid out as you have done in this video, and things do change! I did not know that the radio and navi codes could be 'automatic', for example.

Thanks for doing this; often times, self-help videos make assumptions (some intended, some unintended) about what is already known by the viewer.

You're very welcome @Kelsen . Glad the video helped you out. Yeah, it was interesting that we could automatically enter in the security code. I didn't even know until I was powering up my vehicle and noticed that. So I thought maybe a lot of others probably overlooked this piece too, so I thought it would be a good idea to share.

Thanks for the feedback and I'll try and post some more as I get around it.

I just did mine, 2017 ADV. The only issue I'm having is that the memory presets for the seats were lost and the car doesn't beep when I walk away from it while it is running like it used to. Kinda strange that it is not recognizing that the key is too far away now as it idles?

This was very helpful to me. The battery on my 2018 just "up and died" without much warning. I tried doing the work myself, but I really struggled trying to get the old battery out. I put the trickle charge on for a couple of hours, reconnected everything and was able to start it, so then it was off to Auto Zone where they installed for me.

I like doing my own work, but I'm getting older, and I just can't do what I used to, dang it.

I did have to do the security code reauthorization (the automatic method worked great), and I lost my seat settings (redone easily). I think and hope I am set for a good while.
