Receiver Hitch for bike rack - 2016 RDX
I am planning to get a receiver hitch to attach a bike rack to my 2016 RDX. I am in northern CA. Does anyone know a good place to get a receiver hitch installed? I dont want a incompetent shop working on my new RDX. I dont know if i should go to U Haul or the local dealer? I read you have to remove the bumper and cut into it a bit. If anyone could share their experiences with bike racks that hold 4 bikes that would be good too.

Hello, just a quick comment. I have the same concerns, and in doing a bit of research it seems to me that the OEM factory hitch is a better alternative than the offerings from U-Haul or similar 3rd party providers. Take a close look at the mounting to the frame and you will see the factory one has three bolts per side, and a better method of mounting to the frame. Just a thought for you to consider, SirCol

Go with this one, IMO. One hour install time by myself, no cutting or bumper removal required. For a bike rack I believe you'll be fine and have enough $$ left, compared to buying the OEM hitch, to buy some nice bike accessories. There are a few threads here on this topic if you're looking for more opinions and/or information. Good luck with the new ride.

If you're going to get a 4 bike hitch rack, make sure you install a hitch with a 2 inch receiver. Its a much more stable mounting point for a bike rack with that capacity. I installed the 2 inch Curt hitch on my 2015 in half an hour and it looks and fits great for less than half the cost of OEM.

I also have the 2" Curt hitch and installed it myself. Not too difficult. Works well with my Yakima Holdup2 bike rack. Although I can't open the hatch with bikes loaded and the rack tilted away.
If I could do it over again, I would get the 2" Hidden-hitch.
The warranty terms for the Curt hitch states that a stabilization strap is required for all non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers, etc.
Which is kinda lame.

You can't even see the hidden hitch, only the 7" X 2" extension with the Stowaway tightener:

E-trailer does list different part numbers and from the photos, they do appear different. New hitches are short money so why re-use a rusty older hitch anyway? Even if they were interchangeable, at the bare minimum I would get new mounting hardware.
