Brandon,
I should have been more detailed in my posting. The Tein SS adjustable shock adjusts in the rebound direction only. Compression valving is factory set and is fixed. The compression setting is what I referred to in having Tein change. The "softer" setting is relative to the spring rate used. The standard compression valving did not work well with a 9kg/mm spring.
As to springs supplied, the seller of Tein products offers you what Tein stocks, unless they want to absorb the cost of scrapping the standards 7kg/mm spring pair in lieu of a higher rate spring pair. Marcus at Heel-Toe helped me out in an effort to get R&D done. Maybe either Heel-Toe or Xlr8 can negotiate with Tein an offering off-the-shelf for generation 2 CL/TL drivers since they seem to be the big sellers out there. Tein USA is based in Downey, California and Hell-Toe is not that far away from them (Marcus?).
I hope that helps you out...

Type s w/ H&R SPORTS
EIBACH SWAYS FRONT/REAR
FRONT ADJUSTABLE CAMBER KIT
Overall the car rides alot better now. Killed the horrible wheel gap and Lower center, less roll and sharper cornering. After changing out the sways, driving became exciting like the Type-S should be. Ride quality is greatly improved but not as low as wanted. This is how I wished the car felt stock. Coilovers next...
