Installing a magnefine filter

Is it a good idea to run some transmission fluid thru the magnefine filter before installing it to "flush out any contaminents" or just install it as it comes in the package...Thanks in advance

I am guessing that gravity alone will not result in the fluid flowing thru the filter....seems like a better approach would be to connect the filter to the inlet hose and use a scrap piece of hose run into a catch basin to do two things...make sure the flow is in the correct direction and to "flush out" the filter.

Does this sound like a good approach..? TIA
