Acura TSX: How to Replace Your Headlight Bulbs

Having burnt headlight bulbs can cost you a ticket, read on to learn how to replace the headlight bulb on your Acura TSX.

Driving without working headlights is not only a hazard, it is also illegal. Replacing the headlight bulb on your Acura TSX requires loosening the front bumper. This guide will show you how you can do so successfully and without breaking anything off. Make sure you purchase the correct bulbs for your headlight, then read this guide to learn how to do it. The dealership could charge a little more than what the procedure is worth, so if you don't want to waste your money on labor and you feel you can handle it on your own, read on to learn how to do it yourself.

Acura TSX 2004-2015: How to Replace Headlight Bulbs

Materials Needed

  • Socket
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Headlight bulb

Step 1 – Loosen front bumper

You don't have to remove the front bumper all the way; just remove the two top hooks, the two screws on the side (connecting it to the wheel well) and pull it off from the side you're removing the headlight on, which is connected with a few clips.

Step 2 – Remove headlight bolts

The headlight is held in place with three bolts: the first one is on top of the headlight, the second one is on the outside of the headlight (under the bumper), and the third one is on the front of the bumper. Remove all three bolts using your socket.

Step 3 – Remove headlight and replace bulb

Before removing the headlight, reach inside and unplug the electrical connections. You can do so by squeezing the plastic tabs and pulling them apart. Pull the headlight straight out, then turn it to remove the bulb desired. To remove the bulb, turn it counterclockwise for half a turn, then remove it and install the new one in place.

Step 4 – Install headlight

Installation is the reverse of removal.

  • Bring the headlight closer, then connect the electrical connections to their proper bulbs.
  • Align the headlight in place, then tighten the three bolts.
  • Install the bumper back in place, just align it with the clips, then push it into them. Install the two screws on the side, then install the two top hooks back on.
