Acura TSX: How to Replace Air Filter
The engine air filter is designed to filter any air going into the Acura TSX's engine. This guide will show you how you can replace it yourself when it's dirty.
This article applies to the Acura TSX (all years K24 engine models).
The air filter is the gate between the outside world and the inside of the Acura TSX's engine. Over time, the engine air filter gets dirty and clogged, which starts restricting the air going into the engine, thus decreasing its performance. When the engine feels restriction, it works harder to maintain normal performance, which results in burning more fuel. Replacing the engine air filter is one of the most basic pieces of maintenance, which means you should replace it at least once ever two years if you really want the full engine performance. Read on to learn how to replace the engine air filter in the Acura TSX yourself.
Materials Needed
- Socket
- Air filter
Step 1 – Remove air box lid
Remove the air box lid by removing the four bolts around it. You can find the four bolts around the four corners.
Step 2 – Remove air filter
Don't yank the lid out, since it's still connected to the intake tube; instead, just pull it up a little bit, then pull the air filter out.
Step 3 – Install new filter
Install the new filter the same way you remove the old one, then tighten the four bolts.
Pro Tip
If your Acura TSX model year is between 2009 to 2014, then the process is identical, except instead of removing four bolts, you unclip five clips around the air box.
