Materials Needed
- Flat head screwdriver
- Socket
- New side mirror
Step 1 – Remove inside mirror trim
Use your flat head screwdriver to gently pop off the triangle-shaped trim on the inside of the side mirror. Then remove it.
Step 2 – Disconnect electrical harness
You can disconnect the electrical harness without removing the door panel, simply pull gently on the wire, then squeeze the plastic tab on the harness and pull it apart. If you want more room to work, you can remove the door panel by removing a series of screws on the inside of the door handle, and behind the handle where you close the door, under its trim.
Step 3 – Remove the side mirror
To remove the side mirror, remove the three nuts from the inside. Once the nuts are off, pull the mirror straight out, and it will come off with its studs. Install the new mirror in its place. Feed the three studs through, then install the three nuts. Connect the electrical harness, then install the trim piece in place.
