Replacing a fuse in your Acura MDX is easy enough – the hard part is figuring out just where to look.

This article applies to the Acura MDX.

If a component in your Acura MDX repeatedly switches off and on, or if it does not turn on when prompted (or is otherwise delayed), then you should check to see if its fuse is blown. Replacing a circuit breaker fuse is an easy enough task—the hard part is trying to figure out where the fuse is, especially in an MDX. There are three different fuse boxes within the vehicle, and they all control different systems. There is one on the driver’s side, one on the passenger’s side, and a third in the rear. The following is a diagram of each box, and what fuse is located where.

Driver’s Side Fuse Box

The driver’s side fuse box is located under the steering wheel well, near the car’s brake. It is the largest fuse box in the MDX, and controls a battery of systems, including the automatic locks, power windows, power seats, and more.

Passenger’s Side Fuse Box

The passenger’s side fuse box is located on the lower side panel. It’s the second largest fuse box in the MDX, and controls several systems, too.

Rear Fuse Box

The oft-forgotten about fuse box in the MDX is the one in the back of the car—it’s located on the left side of the cargo area. It is connected to such systems as the power tailgate closer, fuel lid, trailer hazard, and more.

Looking for a blown out fuse is pretty easy:

1. Set the power mode for the MDX to VEHICLE OFF (LOCK). Turn headlights and all accessories off.
2. Remove the fuse box cover.
3. Check the large fuse in the engine compartment. If the fuse is blown, use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screw and replace with new one.
4. Inspect small fuses in the engine compartment and the vehicle interior. If there's a burned out fuse, remove it with a fuse puller and replace with a new one.
