I was driving through an area with Million dollar homes subdivision in pricy part of town after tennis going to Trader Joe’s in ZDX
and cop on motorcycle was sitting there with lights flashing ahead of me , I drive by and he gets behind me so I pulled over. He ask how I’m doing , I gave him my lisc insurance , he said yea they have us out due to people going above speed limit and you were 10 over I be back , I won’t be long since it’s about to rain , don’t forget to close your sunroof. I thought man he’s a nice guy.
He came back , is this address correct ? He thought I lived in area or why would I be there. Then he said hey what year car is this ? Not seeing a 2020 on your insurance card.

lol I said you won’t either it’s a 2010. He said 2010?? Wow I thought it was néw. It looks beautiful !’ You never see these ! I’m a car guy.

so he leaves , comes back , hands me my stuff , said I am writing you a warning , YIPEE !!😊
he saw my tennis stuff and ask if I play and said he plays too and let me go.

but mistaking 2010 for 2020 is crazy

Should have popped the hood and hatch, then given the 5 min walk-a-round.

 

It's uncanny how often the ZDX gets mistaken for a new car. Acura was definitely ahead of the curve on the design.

It's also funny how polarizing the design was when it came out (with most reviewers and internet blowhards hating it). Obviously it polarized me in the positive direction, but it seems that opinions have shifted over the decade since the vehicle was released. The ZDX gets lots of love now, and if imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery then Acura should feel positively praised given the looks of the X4, X6, Model X, Model Y, GLE, etc.

And I suppose it would be incredibly rare to have some random person walk up and say how much they hate the looks of your car, but for the entire time I've owned my ZDX I've been approached countless times with compliments, appreciation, and admiration.

 

Yea my first tech one got compliments but couple of negative remarks but way more compliments. When I bought the Advance model with running boards and the black chrome 20 rims two friends who disliked ZDX’s all of sudden like this one but you’d right a 11 year old design mistaken for a new car due to design and being rare is really impressive.
Acura should bring it back maybe
I’m going to wrap my rear lip spoiler in carbon fiber to match the front lip and that’s enough on that car
I heard the Acura tech guy say every time I see this car you added something new guess he meant front lip spoiler and head up display but they are great reliable cars that still get attention.
