Volte take-over of Enel X-Way?
Volte take-over of Enel X-Way?
From a ZDX Facebook forum but I cannot verify yet:
I never recv'd the email mentioned in that thread. Wondering if anyone here knows anything.
For what it’s worth. Today I was informed by Honda/Acura that there is new firmware for my home charger. To install it you simply power it off and then restart and the update will be immediately installed. New app to replace the old Enel X Way app. It only applies if you have the Acura Charger. The new app and the software is coming from Voltie.
I received the email - the day after I dropped my ZDX off as mentioned in this message - ZDX Updates - SERIOUS TROUBLE, so I was unable to verify its functionality. I will report, however, that upon opening the VoltiE app I saw my home charger for the first time there since January when we were first informed of the transition to VoltiE. Numerous attempts to contact VoltiE were unsuccessful, and I had considered replacing the innards with a board from OpenEVSE. My home charger has worked well, but without the metrics available through the app and my electric company wouldn't offer me the connection discount because of the lack of provider/connection.
I'll report back when my car comes back from the shop...!

Well, my charger shows up on the VotiE app after I downloaded it and logged in today. Will be charging overnight tonight or tomorrow. Will see if the charging history shows up in the app.
What is the Voltie app good for?
Since I bought in July 2024, soon after this car was released, I got one of the early L2 home chargers from Enel X-Way. With its app I could set the chargers maximum current delivery, and see a history of all the times I charged at home, and how much power was delivered. Of course, they went bankrupt soon after and all those cloud features went away. The charger was perfectly good as a dumb home charger, and was all I needed anyway,
Now it seems Voltie has taken over the cloud features for this charger. I've got the app, setup the account, and my charger is visible. It seems I can set the max power (but not by specifying amperage, instead specifying power, which is odd). But here is the thing. Nothing is showing up under History. I have charged at home twice since I setup the app, and no history. Am I doing something wrong? What exactly should this app do for me?

This might qualify for a new thread, but I thought I'd put it here. I got an email from Acura today stating this:"In light of Enel X Way USA closing its operations in the U.S. and Canada, Acura is offering a complimentary replacement of these charging stations with an equivalent model that is equipped with hardware and software support, as well as various connected features."
They are covering the cost of removal and installation of the new Level 2, 48-amp charger as well.
As I got the most recent message from Voltie the day after my ZDX went for her 5-week visit to the dealer, I was unable to test the functionality of the app until last night. It didn't work at all! The charger did work just fine, as it has since installation last year, but no app support! So, the above is excellent news - I've already completed the on-line application, and they have assigned it to the company that installed the Juice Box. Some good news and customer support from Acura for a change!
