Removing the taillight

I am trying to remove my taillight so I can change out a blow bulb, but I can’t get off I look through the manual removed the cover took out the two screw, but I can’t get the damn thing to come out.

yeah the service manual is NO HELP. You might try some wd-40 after a little bit of prying. shoot it towards the pins shown the in the manual. mostly the corners.

With the help of a coworker I was able to get off. The first one was a fighter the second one came off easier.

Yea, they do seem to fight you, but once you get one off you get a sense of how it's attached and the other is a little easier.

Tailight

It helps if you have a thin plastic body tool and stick under light , if not under you will crack lenses.
Carecarekiosk.com
see where he puts the tool and it will come right out

Thanks I replace the bulbs with LED, so I hope I don’t have to go and changes them again. That is the one thing I was worrying about was breaking the lens. I started to take it to a shop, but most places won’t change them unless you buy the part from them

That came out way too easy. Not a chance in hell yours is going to come out that simple, but it might be your lucky day.

Well I broke my lense ! Prying with tool but wasn’t under assembly. Man I screamed when a chunk broke and fell to ground. I glued it back but plan to replace it.

Sorry to hear that, it took about an half an hour just to get one out. The second one about twenty minutes. There was a small piece that got broken of on one of the clips.

Hey everyone. I made a couple tutorial videos on how to remove the rear taillights and trunk reverse taillights. Check it out.

I decided to change ALL the OEM TL bulbs at the same time, since they’re cheap, and when one fails, the rest are likely not far behind, plus avoiding more lens removal grief in near future. Function issues afterward drove me nuts though, until I realized I had some bulb/socket orientations switched. I worried also that LED replacements might confuse the computer, and make for more grief . I DO have the electrical service manual, but in the end, with electrically complex modern vehicles you are totally at the mercy of the Acura dealer if problems emerge (even my 70 yr. old 6V antique car is sensitive to seemingly insolvable issues when substituting non-original/upgrade electrical parts).

Remove brake light bulb(s)?

Has anyone removed/replaced a burned out brake light bulb, the ones in the center of the hatch? I replaced a taillight bulb and noticed a couple of the center bulbs were not lighting up. I couldn’t find anything on YouTube. Any help would be appreciated!

Third center brake light

Hi, The third brake light also called “High Mount Stop Lamp” is mounted onto the rear spoiler. I remember it being LED. The light is sealed and the complete assembly is usually changed when led bulbs stop working. I remember changing out my spoiler wing to the larger OEM spoiler and it required removing the center brake light and transferring it over to the new spoiler. If I remember correctly, once you remove the lip spoiler, there are 2 screws holding the third brake light to the spoiler.

#2 - High mount stop lamp

Removing the spoiler is tricky. You have to remove your trunk interior panels to access the spoiler bolts from the inside of the trunk. Here’s a video on how to remove the interior trunk panels. This should help you get access to the spoiler bolts.
