My (new to me) 2012 CBP/Umber ZDX
 

I have had my eye on this car for years, and never really planned on owning one as I already have a Tesla and my GF has a Lexus RC. The stars must have aligned because when I found this MINT ZDX in the exact color I wanted (black/umber) and with super low miles at a crazy good price, I could not pass it up! One flight and 17 hour drive later, and I ended up really falling for this car.

I just installed new 22x10.5 wheels, and the look is transformed. I have an appointment to have the grille blacked out Tuesday and ordered a rear spoiler, so I’m really looking forward to a more stealthy look.

I assume you mean the lovely Acura silver nose piece, which is also affectionately know as the Acura beak when you stated 'grill blacked out.'

Additionally, what's the offset used on the new wheels?

Yes i am having that beak wrapped lol, that was my second priority to the new wheels. Wheels have a 40mm offset with 285/35 tires, I was going to have them machined 2-3 mm more, but they actually fit rather well. and there is no rubbing at all.

Mine black too but I love you wheels !! Now I think the Beak looks very good only on ZDX cars. Other models not so but it looks like a shield so painting it just not for me but please show pic once your done.

I just took the car to a friend’s wrap shop today since I figured it would be a good non-permanent option to have it wrapped, but considering he would have to take the bumper off for it and the wrap could eventually lift around the emblem, I may just have it sanded and painted. I just found some really inexpensive rear mud guards in red (CBP ones are discontinued) that I plan on having painted as well.

I do love the look of the wheels and get a lot of compliments on them but man I did not expect such a dramatic drop in gas mileage (20mpg to 16mpg)!

Lol! 16 mpg yea 16 city 23 hwy. ZDX drinks gas but our 2009 FX only slightly better. I miss my 2004 Acura TL gas mileage but love my ZDX

I also had a 2005 Acura TL that i bought for my future father-in-law to drive around while he was visiting from Europe, then bought this after selling it. I thought that car was bad on gas (23mpg) since my old F80 M3 got the same mileage, but I guess I didn’t know what a thirsty car really was until I put the 22’s on this car :tomato: I fill up every 4 days, thank god gas Is cheap right now!

Once again congrats man. I think you posted up on the fb group acura zdx fan club. Hope you get her right where you want her. Yeah you're right mpg is not good on this car as is and adding 22s really makes it drink alot more, but like my old uncle once told me "a woman might not be comfortable wearing high heels but she sure does look damn good with them on though" enjoy your zdx brother. I know for damn sure I got many plans to modify mine in the very near future.

thanks! I bought the car from someone in Colorado and the owner kept the plates, my brother works at a norm reeves store so he gave me one to cover the blank spot while I try to get actual plates lol
