I'm around and perusing the forums everyday. Actually I posted an old pic of my Sundance Gold CL type S in the photograph forum the other day. Still enjoying the ZDX, put the oem wheels back on last week with the Michelin Latitude Alpin HP snow tires I negotiated into the package when I got the ZDX. Claybarred it and waxed with Autoglym HD paste wax so she's ready for whatever winter brings up here.

I enjoy seeing the pics of yours, it makes a great looking vehicle look even better.

So lately I have been itching to go all black on the ZDX, well except for the taillights. My car has been up at the dealer for the last week getting some warranty work done. I put the stocks back on when I sent it in last week. I figured what better time then now to paint the Vossens. Since I just blacked out the window molding flat black I was thinking the wheels may look good the same color. I will be putting them on the car tomorrow to let them dry. Here are some photos. Next weekend will be the headlight mod

They did look great before, I agree! Nice thing is I sprayed them using Plexi Dip just in case I dont like it. I can just peel the paint off without destroying the factory finish. Its a win win really.

Plasti-Dip ftw. I've used that a few times on my car and it's awesome stuff.

Looking forward to pics of the wheels mounted

Exactly how does this plasti-dip work? can you do it yourself or do you need some kind of professional paint job?

This was my first time using this product and man it was easy and simple. I have painted a lot of wheel in my time and this by far the best way if doing it yourself. There is no prep just clean area with alcohol and begin spraying. I didnt even need to tape off the tires. You can peel the over spray off the tires with ease. You can pick the product up at Lowes or Home Depot. I found a lot of videos on youtube so look there. If you have any questions just ask. I used about a can per wheel. Im doing my stocks this week with this stuff. I cant tell you how long it will hold up for though.

Well im very happy with the results of the car after putting the wheels on. I feel that the car is more me now. The wheels have always been a bit too flashy for my taste from the start. Still debating if im going to black out the side steps. I kind of like the contrast of the silver for some reason. Here is a quick shot I took tonight, more to come when time allows.

Exclamation OMGawd!

You did it again Mugen kid, Sh*t is hot! Your ZDseX is an inspiration for all of us out there trying to do our damn thing, Even though I dont know you personally I understand what you mean by saying the look is more you (if that makes any sense). I wish i could put 22"s and lower my Z but Here in the Mean skreets of NY I need my ground clearance for snow and or whatever pot holes the city can throw at me so the 20"s will just have to do. The only thing I can recommend is that you make your bumper reflectors red again unless you are going to tint your tails (which I think you shouldn't). You are a vehicular artist, keep up the great work my acurazine buddy!

The wheels look great. In the picture it looks like the window trim is black rather than chrome. did you also paint those (if so how?) or is that just the lighting in the picture? I wanted to cover the chrome around my windows with tinting material but I was told that would cause the chrome to peel. Anyway thanks - I still need to post soem pictures of mine. Maybe I can get a few after I get it washed this weekend.

Thanks guys for all the feedback on the wheels.

1alembic here is a close up of the 3m Vehicle wrap I installed. I made a sticker up in illustrator and had it made for the corner piece. I really would like to do this stuff on my mirrors, window garnish, and rear door handle to go with the wheels. It was super easy to do yourself if you like doing that kind of stuff.

I love what you've done with the car, looks great! I have a 2010 advance ZDX. Color is Grigio Metallic. Was thinking about painting my grill black too. Not sure if it would look good, any advice? And did you tint your back windows or are they factory tinted still?

Wow!! That black trim around the windows is perfect. I may have to try that myself. Have you though about tinting the side mirror turn signales? I did to mine and like how it turned out. I'm just about to post some pictures of it. thanks!!

Dont worry I was affraid too at what the outcome would look like. Black wheels are hard to do on some cars but it worked perfect for the ZDX. Plus I think the wheels look smaller now which I like.

Thanks, I think a black grille would look ok. How about painting the grille the same color as your car and paint the sheild(the piece with you Acura emblem) Black, that would look good I think, and different. If you have a photo of the front of your car send it over and I will photochop it for you

Thanks, Im actually waiting on some tint film to arrive in the mail for the mirror turn signals. Im also working on my headlights for a new look, that will be revealed very soon. Your car looks great by the way!

Sweet looking black on black (on the 22')!
Just keeps getting better and better!

On the OEM tires:
How many layers of plasti-dip you put on it?
It wouldn't damage the OEM wheels, correct? And if there is any 'chip/peel', just spray it back?
Do they come only in black or there are other colors (dark grey/gun metal)?

I can't wait to try this on...

Thanks, I ended up doing three thick coats on the wheels. When spraying the texture is rough but it will smooth as it drys. Its best that each coat is thick, just be careful with runs. If you do ever get any chips or peeling you can just spay and touch up without taking the wheel off. This stuff really does just peel off when you dont want it on anymore. It will not damage any of the factory finish which is nice.

So I have been designing some things up in my head lately for a new look inside the headlights. I was thinking of doing some LEDs, like I did in my NSX but thought that these days all cars have LEDs and they are nothing special anymore. Well I thought it would be a cool idea to replace the amber with an illumination type of lighting. So I have been building something like that. The ZDX logo will light up at night like the second photo. Heres a quick teaser. I should be done by the weekend hopefully! Thanks for looking.

Well I ended up getting the car back together last night. I really am happy with the conversion and feel it still has a stock look to it. I ended up smoking the turn signal lens and running light lens too. Here are a couple of snap shots of the installed headlights.
