burning clutch smell when going uphill

i seem to notice a burnt clutch smell whenever i go uphill. any idea what could cause this? 1st time ive smelled it in an automatic car...

I don't know if it is 'clutch',
But twice on separate occasion, when I was 'punching' the Z (RPM to 5 - 6k) a few times, I smell something 'burning' as well...
I thought it's just maybe an oil drop on a hot engine?

Haven't got the chance to check it out though...
