Acura at the Detroit NAIAS
I just returned from the auto show in Detroit last night and I want to give you my AZ peeps a short take:
- The ZDX is HOT. The ladies on the floor that our baby is the second most attractive vehicle in terms of admirers after the sexy new NSX. Nothing changed on it (they were showing a '12 CBP/Black Advance) but they might do a mid-cycle refresh for the 2013.
- The NSX, my favorite car at the show and a good enough reason for me to work on ensuring I get my bonus every year
, is unbelievable in person. They're saying it's a 2015 model year and a bit pricy - close to the 6 figures. It won Autoweek's best concept.
- I saw a TSX Sport Wagon for the first time. Nothing to write home about.
- The RL and the TL are classy as always.
- A new ILX is making its debut. I think it's ugly.
- 2013 RDX is really nice. Way better than the last one, but look for a weaker engine (non-turbo I4) to make an appearance and an optional V6. The two-tone polished/black rims (I think they were 20s) they had on it at the show are hot. This one looks much closer to the MDX than the older model did.
Fun fact: All the Acuras at the Exhibit were BLACK except for the future vehicles, which were silver - ILX, NSX, and RDX, which I thought was a great move considering how nice this color contrasts the Evil Pumpkin grill.
