I just checked around on Acura site and find out that the 2011 ZDX does not have the Deck Spoiler option anymore...?

I wonder (and if anybody know) why?

That's too bad...
IMHO, the deck spoiler definitely helps enhance the ZDX appearance (well, unless it's black... it's a bit invisible)

Any thoughts?

 

That seems odd, my ZDX came with the rear spoiler when I purchased it thankfully. I do agree it does give it a very sporty look. I’m kind of disappointed Acura does not offer a front or rear lip kit

 

The rear spoiler was listed as an option on the '10 models and not on the '11 because it's now standard? Anyone seen a ZDX without a deck spoiler? IMHO the car would look very different without it.

 

I've been at the dealerships pricing ZDX's and had the same question.....
I was told that the spoiler is an option with the "Base" models, but becomes standard when you order the Tech or Advanced packages.

 

Ah... They probably have not updated the website (still showing NO Spoiler on all Base/Tech/Adv)

However, if it is standard on Tech/Adv, I think it's a good move on the Acura side.

Almost 2 months with the car, I've only seen 2 (both without spoiler): Black and Grigio
(Another part that I LOVE... Just so RARE on the road here in Dallas!)

I'm so glad I got the spoiler.
IMHO, the ZDX looks 'incomplete' without it...

 

I researched this pretty thoroughly before picking up my '11. From what I was able to piece together (which was difficult given all the conflicting sources to include Acura corporate itself), all ZDX's (either '10 or '11) come with the black spoiler across the portion that separates the two panes of glass on the hatch. The '10 accessory spoiler was bigger and color-matched to the exterior paint color.

My guess as to why it was discontinued is the shattered glass we saw in some pictures here last year. The bigger spoiler may have played a role in that...

 

I work for an Acura dealership and have a ZDX, when I inquired about the accessory spoiler from my Acura rep, he said it is held on by double sided tape and they had reports of some flying off at hwy speeds, they said they are "re-designing" it and may have an updated part in the future. Until they they are discontinued.

 

Thanks, nodnarb. Although I have trouble imagining that a company with as much performance heritage and today safety-focus would think that a spoiler wouldn't need physical mounts... Luckily the black spoiler still looks great, and probably lucky that so few ZDXs are sold (and even fewer with the accessory spoiler) that we haven't heard about this widely before.

Seriously though... Should I be concern about the spoiler/contact local Acura?

On my mind, losing it on the highway (+ injuring other people) is certainly terrifying...
