Ahh cool cool. I have to order some plasti-dip soon. Keep putting off my wheel refinishing project, among every other planned mods for my car this summer.

@ Tai - That looks really good! At UC the other day there was a kid with a STi that he just finished dippin' in like a matte army green and black combo. Looked really good, first time seeing a whole car done like that. Besides if you don't like it, just peel it off haha.

Has anyone seen Dupli-Color Wheel Coating anywhere in Edmonton?

Looking for graphite in particular. Link for reference:

I have no clue how much he paid tbh, i thought of doing mine but my friends threatened to rip it off when i park it somewhere haha.

gf just picked up a RSX and i just spent the last hour or so removing the hood reflector, window visors (dunno why, i think it looks good lol), little mirror things on side mirrors and 2 HUGE fake Type S badges on the grill and the back haha. odd placement on the back too

Also, some late pics from the last meet

Comparison of Vince's lights to my stock lights, very nice!!

Weird wheels on that RSX. And If your not gonna keep those window visors I'll put them to good use if they're in good shape lol.

@Jordan
yeah, wheels are weird, reminds me of the stock TL type S spares, Dude said he left the stock rims in BC so meh.
The Visors are in real good shape, i'll take pics tmr close up if you want, not sure when they were put on but the car only has 130k for an '03, you would need to replace the 3M tape tho obviously.
The hood reflector was just bought and installed last week but i doubt you want that too haha

@Aaron - I think it said something like $900 to dip the whole car on their FB page.

@Tai - Thats fine for the visors, I'd still take 'em haha. And I actually have my stock wheels/tires that I may be selling if these winter wheels & steelies I picked up work on my car...

@Tai - $40 sounds fine, I know Aerocarparts wanted like $60 for them, but they don't make them anymore either haha.

Well, this thread exploded into activity!

Yeah, when I got my car I test drove an AT with paddle shifters, just wasn't the same. I was dead set on getting an MT. So I was surprised when they told me it would cost more. Bit the bullet, and it's well worth it.

Plasti-dip is something that I've been considering! My wife and I were considering trading my car in for a truck, but that idea is gone now. So I'm free to mod my car! Wheels I will probably do once this set of rubber is done for. I'm patient. I wonder how plasti-dip does with bondo? Some ass at work decided to put his boot into my passenger door. Unfortunately he hit right around the crash bar. Pushed most of the upper section out, but it's still there. Not to mention the scratches. Restoring that would be quite the process with the original paint (as someone mentioned).

I'm not sure where to start! Was considering a CAI, but the gains are minimal. Really been wanting to get some stuff for the exhaust system. ATLP J-pipe, rear cat delete. My vehicle knowledge is quite limited, so that mod is blurry to me.

Do any of you have suggestions regarding that? I met a guy at work who installed the ATLP system in his car and he loves it. He lives in Calgary, think his is an '06 TL MT. We did some rolling starts on the Henday and he held up pretty well. Only time I lost was poor shifting (even then he was pulling really slow). Regardless, I'd love for the car to sound a little mean, ya know? It already looks aggressive as it is!

^ i have the unresonated ATLP quads and its amazing, looks great, and sounds sweet. although i think it has a lot of drone which tends to get annoying on the highway. but its hard not to put it in tip mode and just listen to it..

Drone isn't much of a problem when you've got tunes playing though?

Plus, the sound is to make heads turn! Most people seem to ignore our ars unless they've been modded.

The J-pipe would provide what I'm looking for eh?

I think I recognize that anthracite (?) TL, with the blacked out front grille. He was heading North on 170th near Mayfield, earlier this week. I literally saw 6 TL's within 20 minutes (a bit much really) and his was the only modded one!

I've seen two TL's that color with blacked out grill, one complete stock with plastidip grill/emblem, and the other one would belong to Aaron (ArenHam), which is modded.

Not sure why you mentioned me in the post since my car is WDP lol

You posted the 'late' pictures from the last meet, so I figured you would know who it is (since I have no clue). If it is ArenHam, then maybe he will recall if he was in that area earlier this week.

On another topic, I just noticed that someone recently did a teambuy for exLED's. Wondering if there is any interest within our Edmonton TL community. If there are sufficient numbers, I think we need at least 10 people for a discount, we can get the ball rolling. Any takers? Seems like a simple mod, and if you want to bathe your interior with whatever color you desire, it seems like these modules would do that quite easily. I'd personally stick with white and just replace\add red where need be.

Whats price on group buy with shipping?
Are they just plug and play?
A majority of us already have LEDs running including myself but after sitting in Vince's car, i wanna get brighter ones, so I'm in depending on price.

For our kits the standard price is $99 USD.
Complete kit includes:
- Map Light
- Dome Light
- Licenseplate Light
- Vanity(Mirror) Light
- Cargo Light

Just from looking at some videos, these are bright! Each module has a good amount of LEDs as well, installation is plug and play. Dimmers are built in. I'm just trying to see how much interest we have. I'll shoot them an email now to see what we can work out.

Most of you have already done LED mods, as in replacing the OE with different\brighter LEDs in the console, so on and so forth?

Hmm, I have something similar right now, wonder if they would do only some of the lights instead of the whole kit.

@Sejanus - That kit seems very overpriced. I assembled my entire kit froim ebay for around $50 with everything included, along with glove box led, centre console led, and door light leds which they show in the video but don't list on the description. From the looks of it mine are just as bright as theirs and wouldn't doubt my license plate ones are brighter since I did the CCFL conversion. The leds available on ebay are all plug and play as well. Only thing missing is the dimming feature but I don't care much for that. Do a bit of searching on ebay and you'll put together a kit much cheaper. There aren't 10 TL members on this thread anyway so doing a GB would be difficult.

Was it plug and play as in the LEDs are built into a socket that's compatible with the bulbs? Or on a PCB similar to their product.

I know I'm more than capable of doing it myself, just finished doing some electronics work in school. What bulbs did you use specifically? Also, have any of you done console mods as well? There's so much product out there it's difficult to start!

I've been looking at some CAI's and SRI's. I'm leaning in the direction of an SRI just due to the fact that it's further away from the ground. I travel to Fort McMurray once in awhile, and currently the highway is flooding. If I had a CAI I'm sure I would be sucking up a lot of water.

I was looking at the K&N Typhoon, but reading some reviews here and there, it isn't exactly bolt on and apparently we did have MAF's (as opposed to the Accord).

So then I stumbled upon the Takeda tr-1007p. Mixed reviews yet again. Do you guys have any suggestions on an SRI? Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

@v|nsan|ty - I just stumbled upon a plug and play kit on Amazon for less then $15. I'll probably end up buying it to see how that works out. I think the primary difference between what you have\I've found compared to what exLED offers is that they have custom built PCB boards and space out all of the LED's. Just for the map lights they probably have a dozen LED's on the board. Probably overkill, but thanks for letting me know that there are better alternatives out there!

@Sejanus - If you're looking for a SRI, K&N/AEM are both good choices. K&N is the parent company of AEM.S SRI doesn't really give you any gains, more for looks and sounds. Takeda is ok, I've heard issues with the piping or them having welding problems, could be some cheaper metal used compared to other brands. Injen is good too, best option would be to see if you can find used intakes and just buy a new filter if the filter is dirty. That usually would save you some money.

@EdmTSX - Thanks for that information, didn't know K&N owned AEM. I'm interested in the SRI more so for practicality than cost. K&N lists their gains as 10hp for the SRI. From what I've read for CAIs, you're looking at around 15hp. Is that the case for yourself? I'm under the impression you do have an AEM CAI.
