? for all Vancouver BC Folks

Just wondering..where do you guys get your service done. I had to have my brakes changed and such and I just raped by Acura folks as more $$ was charged just for labor services. Any feedback is appreciated.

James at Burrard Acura give me a steal of a deal for a brakejob... If you need his contact info PM me and I'll shoot it over to you.

but oil changes and stuff... I bought all the consumables and tools in the states for a little over 60 dollars.
Changed it myself.

I went to KalTire and had two different cars damaged quite extensively, so stay away from them. They shattered the wheel bearing and wheel spindle on my Kia Rio. They broke the Front Passenger caliper and tried to place me at fault for their mechanic's incompetence, and they also fucked the steering royally on the CL where it stopped steering completely while turning onto the Brunette on-ramp for eastbound HWY1 and again at Gaglardi Way and Broadway (T intersection) heading straight for the concrete, steering failed intermittently a few more times until I took it back and after having it on a hoist for 3 hours, the "non-existent" problem ceased to exist...

I also went to Loyal Auto on 3814 1st Ave, Burnaby, BC V5C 3W1, guy is a Honda Cert'd mechanic with very reasonable shop rates (65/hr), You can buy your parts from eBay and he'll install or you can buy through him. Had him do my rear brake install and flushing the brake system as well as replacing a seized caliper.

Look them up on Craigslist under the Services Offered. Quick work, no hassle, no hidden costs. I was very happy with them.

how far did you go with your original set of brake? I find that Japanese car brands offer to suggest/demand brake service or replacement more often than European brands. You should do some research and ask for the thickness of the pads and rotors when the dealer tells you to replace. Most of the time, they don't need to be replaced. They would tell you that so they get to make more money. I have not replaced anything on my 2008 BMW M3 with 70000km of driving. The fluid was flushed once and that was all.
