Question Zaino - Z2/ZFX

OK, everybody is talking about using Zaino Z2 on their car. Are you mixing ZFX with it as recommended by Zaino?

if you're using zfx... you're supposed to mix it in z2 and z5. if you're using z1, you're supposed to put in on the car first, then apply a coat of z2 on top of it. basically the zfx/z1 is supposed to help dry the polish onto your car. otherwise you'll have to let z2 sit on your car overnight to get similar results.

you coat of polish was prolly too thick. its supposed to be a very thin layer. the 4 bottles that comes w/ the zfx... you're supposed to be able to polish the car 3-4 times w/ one full bottle.

I know that. I just wrote my post badly.

What I meant to say is, it was "dry" after 30 min. It came off completely.

Sorry for the confusion.

ANd yes, the 2oz.+ I used was good for almost 2 coats. The stuff is just NOW starting to wear in high water/dirt zones.

just wondering how many coats of zfx everyone here used on their first polish of their tsx? i dawn blue washed it, spot clayed some areas, washed it again, put on 2 coats of zfx, and then z6'ed it. i know its still new but its pretty damn shiny.

I did the same process.

For everyone else, ZFX negates the need for Z1. Z1 is merely a lock for Z2 and used only the first time. ZFX can be mixed and used up to 3 times in 1 day of the first application. Then you wait a week.

I have used both Z1 process and ZFX process. I have to say, I like the ZFX best. Much less time to put on and much easier to remove. Besides, the application bottle helps to measure it out. I can get 2 coats with 1 application bottle of ZFX (this includes wheels, emblems, light covers and door thresholds).

Do you need to use ZFX every time you apply Z2 or Z5? What happens if you apply only Z2 without adding the drops of ZFX?

If you apply Z2 without Z1 or ZFX on the top layer, it will not really "cure". Usually just mix 2 oz. of Z2 with ZFX and that whole bottle will last you for 2 coats.

Yes. It will take forever to dry. That is all it is---something to speed things up so you don't have to let your car sit overnight.

It isn't necessary to use ZFX everytime, but it will take a little longer to dry. Depending on the weather, I've found that I've had to wait as long as 1.5 hrs to dry, but basically, once you use Z1 or ZFX the first time, you don't need it with Z2 after that.
