I saw a friend use SwissVax on his black car, and it is possibly the glossiest wax I've seen. I've used some Meguiars Gold Class - Prime Epic - and other ones and haven't seen it so glossy before.

Swissvax is popular with the pros out there. So are Optimum Car Wax and AutoGlym HD, but they're effing expensive.

What the fuck!?? $250+? For 150 I can just get a paint correction! What's the second glossiest wax out there?

Told you.

I hear Zaino is great, especially black, but only if your paint is completely defect-free, otherwise you get shiny swirls. Especially on black, haha.

They sell AutoGlym HD at Canadian Tire (like a Canadian AutoZone) for something like $50CDN, and everybody I've seen try it loves it.

Well since my car got a paint correction around 8 months ago, I still have a low amount of swirls. Zaino sounds like a good plan?

From what I hear one of the best, if not the best wax you can get for a reasonable price.

Actually Zaino $$ can sneak up on you ... Z2 sealant ( even tho they call it a polish ) is $15 then the required Z-aio is 25 or the ZFX is $20 so it gets up to the $40 + range and add shipping ...

Auto glym HD is supposedly on sale at Wal-Mart for $20. I haven't tried. It is marked about $34 but is $20 when you get to the register.

How's this for glossy? This is with a nice coat of Optimum spray wax. I used Opti-Seal after my fall detail last year and it turned out pretty damn deep too.

The aesthetics- of a vehicles appearance is usually based upon an emotional reaction and is very subjective to say the least, the only best wax or sealant that really matters is what looks 'best' to you. In the final analysis it all come down to; 85% surface preparation, 5% product, 7% application methodology and the balance is in the ‘guy’ of the beholder

If you apply a product over a surface that is dirty or one that has surface imperfections a wax or sealant will not disguise it, only highlight them.

I would polish first. Start with a proper surface prep.

IMO the comments about a swirled car applied with wax just makes the swirls look shiny is a bit exaggerated. Most of the posters here treasure the paint of their cars and it's probably in better condition than 99% of cars out there. However, it takes a more than just a glance to spot swirls, even on a black car, unless there is direct sunlight. I like the way the car looks with wax applied, swirls or not. In fact, I think the swirls are less visible after a nice coat of wax. Might just be the placebo effect, but

My point is to 99% of the population, a clean waxed car stands out, swirls or not. The other 1% is us, and almost the first thing we look for is the condition of the paint.

However you will need to remove those swirls with a compound before applying a sealant or wax over them

The only problem is that I'm too cheap to buy a buffer, let alone even know the proper technique on how to use one

Those scratches don't seem too deep, you could probably get them off using a good polish and some elbow grease. It'll take longer, but at least you don't have to pay $200+ for an orbital.

Have you ever tried to do that on a whole car? I mean remove them not fill them with a glaze. And if your going to suggest that ... please also include the methodology, applicators, cloths and polishes to use.

Someone told this fellow here "you could probably get them off using a good polish and some elbow grease." and he thought he had a good polish.
