What to use besides dish soap?
Many people recommend using Dawn dish soap to wash your car prior waxing or using Zaino because it does a good job of removing any wax on the car. However, it seems a lot of people say that dish soap should stay in the kitchen, and can be damagine to parts of the car...so do any of you have any recommendations for any car shampoo that will strip away wax, etc.? Most I see advertise that they are gentle and will not remove any wax on the car...but prior to waxing that's not the kind of shampoo I need.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Normally you dont strip away wax/sealant unless you plan on reprotecting it, and/or you need to improve its appearance. Its really useless to use a hi-alkaline product, which has the capability of drying out vinyl or plastic trims over a period of time. So why bother with it anyway. Polishes will remove any previously applied protection, even a paint cleaner will. Any OTC, name brand will work fine for weekly washings, and thats the only kind of shampoo that should touch your cars surface......ever.

You're about to apply Zaino for the first time ? If so, I use and recommend 70% Isopropyl alcohol. The alcohol is easy to find at any pharamacy store. You will need about 10 to 15 of the 32 ounce bottles (or 20 bottles of the 16 ounce). The 32 oz bottle cost approx $1.70 each.
1) Wash car as usual (Do Not dry).
2) While car is still damp, pour alcohol directly onto surface.
3) Using a high quality MICROFIBER, gentle push the alcohol around the surface.
4) Be sure to use plenty of the alcohol to rinse off the previous wax.
5) Do NOT scrub. The alcohol will do the work. Just gently push the alcohol along the surface.
6) Do one panel at a time. Rinse with the water hose after doing one panel.
After doing the whole car, then dry it carefully and gently. The surface will be very grabby with nothing (waxes) on it.
Now you'r ready to apply your Zaino.
I do an alcohol wipe everytime before re-appling zaino (months later, NOT between coats). The zaino will lay down a nice deep coat onto the alcohol-prep'ed surface.
