What is everyone using to clean their TL interior?

What has everyone been using to keep the new car scent in their TL interior?

For some time now, I've been using Meguiars Interior Spray and Meguiars Gold Class Leather spray for the leather but I haven't seen many positive results.

The Meguiars Interior spray does do a good job of cleaning the non-leather parts of the interior but it's odorless and doesn't emit any kind of scent.

The Meguiars Gold Class Leather spray has a nice scent to it but when you apply it to the leather in the car, the seats look all shiny, wet, and greasy. This makes it harder to keep the uniform color in a black interior because some parts look shiny and the parts that were missed look really weird.

I'm trying to find the best combination of both. Preferably something that smells great, protects/cleans well, and isn't sticky and messy.

Thanks!

Without any doubt the best product for your leather is Zaino. It treats the leather AND smells incredible.!!!!!!!!!!

I did Conolly, Meguiars, Zymol and the rest. Nothing smells as good and preserves the leather at the same time.

Another vote for Zaino leather in a bottle. For everything else, I use water:woolite 6:1 to clean and 303 Aerospace Protectant to protect. After more than two years my dash and all look like new.

A very diluted All purpose cleaner, and a damp microfiber. Cleaning is very important. Alot of people use the products that you listed, but forget to actually clean first!
I usually use 303, with a very moistened microfiber towel........thats way the 303 is diluted as I use it also.........

There are different kinds. For interior use Z-9 Leather Soft Spray Cleaner and Z-10 Leather in a Bottle. Atleast twice a year I use cleaner and soft brush to get all the body salts and other dirt out and wipe dry with MF towel and then apply Z-10.

Wait....so Z-9 is what you use to clean the interior and the non-leather parts?

Z-10 is for the leather seats, etc.?

Simpler for you;

Leahter:
Z-9 is to clean
Z-10 to condition leather

Dash, glove box, doors, arm rest:
water 6:woolite 1 to clean
303 Aerospace Protectant to protect.

I use 303 Aerospace Protectant for all the vinyls and Meguiar's Gold Class leather cleaner/conditioner for the leathers.

Blackfire Interior Cleaner and Blackfire Interior Protectant works great for all of the different surfaces in Acura cars. With Blackfire, you don't have to worry about what the particular surface is made from.

That being said, here's what I use on the various surfaces:

Any Black Vinyl, plastic, rubber (Dash, Steering Wheel, Top of door panel):
Clean - Blackfire Interior Cleaner
Protect - 303 Aerospace Protectant

Chrome or Plastic Wood Trim
Clean - Blackfire Interior Cleaner
Protect - Blackfire Interior Protectant

Leather
Clean - Blackfire Interior Cleaner or Zaino Z-9 Leather Soft Spray Cleaner
Condition - Blackfire Interior Protectant or Zaino Z-10 Leather in a Bottle

I alternate between the Blackfire Interior Protectant and Zaino Z-10 for all of the seating surfaces.

Don't use Lexol on the Leather. The leather is coated in vinyl and the Lexol will have a difficult time penetrating the coating. Lexol is made for uncoated leather. This is why people complain that Lexol is too shiny and/or leaves a sticky film. Use a conditioner and cleaner that are designed for both leather and vinyl.

Lexol recommends Vinylex for coated leather.

Well, mine don't get too dirty... mainly dusty. I use a microfiber dampened with distilled water to wipe down dash, seats, etc.

What do you gain by using distilled water?

Not available OTC, online only @ the Zaino Store or through a distributor.

Hmm, okay - well any recommendations on OTC products that I can buy at Pep Boys, or wherever? I'd like to wash the car today..so Zaino is out of the question, for now.

Your help is appreciated!

On the 303 bottle it says it can be used for coated leather... any thoughts about using it on our seats?

I used the Lexol cleaner/conditioner and was less than excited about the results. The middle portion of the rear seat became almost "sticky".

Consider trying Megs NXT if you are limiting yourself to OTC.

When you use that microfiber towel, does it scratch the interior as you wipe it down?

Thanks!

MF towel will never scratch interior. Exterior, it might if the seam is sown by a synthetic thread. Buy a good quality MF towels for exterior but for interior, costco/walmart type will do too.
