Wet-Sanding Advise Needed......
Well, My car took a few good hits over the winter by an ignorant driver who put a nice square imprint in my bumper with her trailer hitch (got a nice $740 check from her insurance) and a chunk of plastic on the freeway when driving home from michigan.
I want to touch up these areas plus a few large chips, wetsand them and buff them out using a PC and some Meguiars 80 cut.
Just need to know what is the best method for wet sanding paint? I have wetsanded my wheel before when I had some curb rash, but a machined lip is a bit more durable than honda's extremely soft paint.
Should I start with a 2000 or 2500 grit and work up to a 3000 or just go right for the 3000?
Here are some pics to show the damage. Please keep in mind, I am not looking for perfect, just something that will not be noticeable from anything further than a few feet away. Thanks!!

as far as the spider web cracking on the front of the bumper, you will need to repaint that before it starts spreading rapidly. you should just repaint the whole bumper instead of touching up the sides and wetsanding it. it needs a repaint anyways, shouldnt cost more than $300.

the problem is this....where the girl hit me in the front, she actually cracked the entire bumper, not just the paint, so it needs to be replaced. A replacement will run me about $750 and a repaint is about $650 due to all the repairs that would need to be done.
In this case, I'm just thinking about ordering the Versus front bumper for the car, painting that, and putting it on, then keeping the OEM bumper for winter time!
I know, I'm crazy......what can I say, I already swap wheels, why not throw in a bumper swap right?
