Is WD40 safe on plastic?

Is WD40 safe on plastic?
I have some tiny crystal balls like stuff on my air/radio display screen and need to remove them (Mine is base without Nav. This is where the navigation screen goes with Nav models)
It was there when I picked up the car from dealer and I guess this is some kind of hardened glue or something. I tried 303 but did not work.
I am thinking to try WD40 or Goo Gone but reluctant to do it because I don't want to ruin the plastic screen.
Are these safe on this plastic display cover? Or can Anyone suggest on how to remove these?
thanks

take a photo of it, goo-gone and other stuff may end up bleaching the surface...

Got this straight from WD40's website. Hope it helps!
What surfaces or materials are OK to use WD-40 on?
WD-40 can be used on just about everything. It is safe for metal, rubber, wood and plastic. WD-40 can be applied to painted metal surfaces without harming the paint. Polycarbonate and clear polystyrene plastic are among the few surfaces on which to avoid using a petroleum-based product like WD-40.
