Waxing update and questions

I would first like to thanks everyone that helped me.
I did my first waxing ever this past weekend on my 04 TL and I think I did
okay. It was a long and tough process but I think I'll get better over time.

My Process:
1) Wash with Meguiars gold class
2) clay with Mothers kit
3) Polish with Meguiars Deep Cleaning System
4) NXT

I have a few more questions.

1) My car is brand new so after waxing I couldn't really tell if I coated it
with the wax properly. When I rub my fingers across the car it feels
smooth and slippery. Is it coated? I have an anthracite TL.

2) I want to properly maintain and prolong the wax. Would it be safe to use
"Wax As U Dry" AND after the car is dry use Meguiears NXT spray on "booster wax"? Or is it safer to use only one of the products?

3) Whats a good product(s) to keep in my car along with a microfiber to clean
misc stuff of my car when I'm away from home (ie bird crap, bugs, etc.)?

4) For the upcoming rainy season, when I drive home from work in the rain and
park my car in my garage, how should I clean the car? Should I just dry
the car right then with a microfiber (This does not sound right though)?

Thanks.

1) Smooth and slippery, sounds like it's coated. You'd be surprised what a thin layer of wax will do. Not to mention
you did all the cleaning before the NXT (good).

2) I haven't tried to use both. I'd stick with one or the other.

3) For bird crap, bugs, sap, etc, I keep a few MFs and some quick detailers in my trunk. Mother's Showtime and Meguiar's Final Inspection are in my trunk now. I'm really liking Showtime lately.

4) After a rain, you should not just dry the car. Rain will have dirt and the accumulating road debris will be on your car. If you dry it, chances are you'll scratch the paint. Best to wash the car.

HTH, sounds like you did your homework

Thanks SK2003TypeS, and thanks for the compliments!

Can anyone else comment on this? Has anybody used both or can anyone confirm
its UNSAFE to use both?

4) After a rain, you should not just dry the car. Rain will have dirt and the accumulating road debris will be on your car. If you dry it, chances are you'll scratch the paint. Best to wash the car.
Thats what I was thinking. But what I meant to ask was what if it was still raining outside when I garage my car? I obviously can't wash the car. Should I let the rain just dry on my car and wash it the next chance I get? Sorry if I confused anyone.

Thanks again.

Your Welcome

2) Please standby for next available poster :P

4) Ok, so it's raining and you pull into your garage. Your car is wet. I gotcha. Might want to check out QEW.

I was recently given a package of Griot's Speed Shine wipes. They seem to work pretty well for this purpose (and presumably for cleaning off bird shit and the like, although I haven't been hit by the birds since I was given the stuff). Only thing is that you need to have a cloth available to buff off the excess that they can leave behind.

Thanks SK2003TypeS and 1995hoo.

QEW...I was actually looking at that as well but it kinda seems too much for my purpose. If it rains 5 days in a row I don't want to have to QEW everyday. I guess I just want to know what other "car care" enthusiast do for this situation.
- When your car is wet, you just garaged it, and its raining outside. Do you guys just let is dry on its own and wash it when weather permits?

Thanks again. =)
