waxes vs. polishes vs. machine glazes

I was just looking on the 3M website and the more I read, the more confused I became.. What exactly is a machine glaze, and is this supposed to be applied in place of a wax or in addition to a wax? Should cars that are parked outside get treated with wax exclusively?

Machine glazes are a polish, and waxes are a protectant.

At our shop we use 3M's Machine pefect-it III 3 step compound/glaze, and finish with their paste wax.

If your car looks anything like mine, your probably itchin' to get it polished, right...
Well, my boss just picked up a new polisher, and I'm going to polish my car sometime before mid-May. If you like, I could
work-out an A-CL "$pecial" for you.

PM me if your interested

^^he's right, a glaze is basically a polish, it does not take the place of waxing, just a step to do before doing a final wax.
