wax as you dry...
this stuff sucks, eagle one wax as you dry.....i tried it on the trunk to see if it works, i used my chamios, and all it did was streaked all over the place...now my car is brand new, and not in need of a full blown wax, i just wanted to try the stuff out...
what i did to make it work was dried the car off and one section at a time sprayed the section and buffed it off and it worked pretty good, but it didnt work as advertised....

Give this a shot - Duragloss AquaWax. I've also tried the Eagle 1 product and wasn't that impressed.
But, here's how I apply it, which is a bit different than the way you did it. Wash the car, but when you're ready to dry it (before you dry it), spray the Spray Wax on and THEN dry it. I think this method works much better and you don't get any streaking.

Neither product is really designed to be your base coat of protection. They both (edge AW) work very well with a base coat already applied. Eagle One was the front runner for quite some time, and works well as a QD when diluted with water about 3:1.

Brand new or not you really should protect your car with regular coats of a good wax or paint sealant. Sealant every 3 months or so, or a quality wax once a month. to be well protected

Do you know what product they used before you bought it (how long ago did you guy it)? I bought my new TL in August 07, and right before winter (maybe late October) I did a polish, seal, etc. I'm actually waiting for a warm day to come up in January sometime to get it again (I decided to go with every quarter), especially with the harsh Chicago winters.

Polish *and* wax only 2x a year?
You do realize that wax evaporates and it only protects for like a month, right? Even if you were using a very durable wax like Collinite 476, I'd still wax at least 4x a year to be safe.
