Underbody washing

I've become a fairly compulsive detailer of my car. The one part that I can't figure out is for those of us who wash our cars at home, is there a good way to wash or rinse the underbody? Is it necessary? We've had a fair amount of snow and subsequent road salt here in Cincinnati this winter and it sure would be nice to get rid of some of that junk.

after i ran on the salt flats, i removed the wheels and got busy with a brush, foaming cleaner and a hose.

one thing you could try is get the lowest profile lawn sprinkler and place it under the car.

matelot,
Do you mean the wash places with the high pressure wands? I just don't think you would be able to get the underbody all that well. Have you done that before?

I'm trying to avoid putting it up on ramps or jacks.
