Black Magic=My favorite, too.

Why don't you try just putting light coats of it on? Or, how about wiping away the excess?

Why don't you spray that, ["megs nxt insane tire shine spray"], on a towel or something and THEN apply..

Common sense escapes you.

Tuf & Shine from Exceldeatail will give you the wet look you are looking for without the the sling. Its well worth the wait even if its shipped to you.

Tyre ‘Sling’As you drive the tyres rotate and the inertia can cause tyre dressing to ‘sling’. This can be caused by (a) applying the product to an improperly cleaned surface, to which it cannot adhere too. The preparation of the surface is the cause of this problem not the product (b) and / or an excess of product. Remedy- after the dressing has penetrated remove any excess.

This is often a problem with solvent-based silicone dressings (Dimethalsilicone or DMS) usually a clear greasy liquid, this type of oil they does not dry easily

Remedy- use a water-based product that cleans, restores and protects. Produces a temperature-resistant seal and a low-shine satin finish that is dust-resistant, that will not sling and it retards the fading effects of UV rays Petroleum-free, water-based formula is approved for use by tire manufacturers and is patented for its superior long-term protective properties and wash- and weather-resistant features that prevent streaking and loss of UV protection.

Alternative product - 1Z (Einszett) Vinyl Rubber Care and Protectant or Swisswax Pneu, water based and provides UV protection and a matte satin finishor

Application
•Apply tyre dressing to a clean dry surface, adding small amounts of product as needed
•Using a suitable foam applicator apply a thin coating
•Don't add too much, just enough to keep the foam moist
•Once you’ve applied a dressing to all four tyres, remove any excess with a dry applicator or towel

Yea I'm really liking the Tuf shine I ordered. It took me 3 rounds on each tire to get them clean before the clear coat application but it was well worth it.

100% ZERO sling

Clean tires with an APC ( Belive it or not Awesome APC from the Dollar Tree store works great ) The Optimum Tire Gel dilluted 50/50 and applied with a cheapie kitchen sponge.

A lot of times also sling ic caused from over application and the product is in the tread in the tire edges. Like a lot of things in detailing .. lots isn't better.

TOGWT has very good info in his post about "why"

You probably want to stop using any other tire spray because it's just going to make harder to clean your tire to prep for Tuff SHine. Because you def want a clean tire before applying this stuff.

how about you go try it out and give me some good feedback instead of trying to be a smart ass.
$9? Great value there.

I use some flat dressing and a cheapo foam applicator. No mess, ever.

Just place an order for some Tuf-Shine from Exceldetail (aka Patrick). There is some prep work but your sling days will be over.

For the two sniping each other - knock it off. Not necessary; not helpful.

I don't like Black Magic. It leaves a residue/build up. It does last, but I don't like the build up.

I've been using Meg's Hot Shine. Gel first, but have the spray at the moment. I don't have a slinging problem and think it is primarily about using just a little an working in well. IOW - don't over apply your tire dressing.
