Swirls and Griots

I am getting to get the swirls out of my NBP TL, and I was planning on buying there Random Orbital, polishing pads, but i was wondering what kind of polish should I use. I have never polished my car so i didnt know what kind of polish to use.

Also is it hard to polish or is it just long

Have you checked the prices of some of the other online sites. Most of them have kits and some includes products (Autogeek, Proper Auto Care, Detail City, Autopia). As far as products go, it will depend on the severity of the swirls and they type of pad you plan on using. Most of the folks here use pads manufactured by Lake Country LC). Our official vendor (Exceldetail) has pad kits available also.

If you plan to go the Griot's Garage route, then use their orange (polish) and red (wax) pads and buy plenty of MF polish removal bonnets. Their Machine Polish 1,2,3 and their Best of Show Wax and their Paint Sealant are good products but can be a little bit of a bear to work with. Use very sparingly. I've used Griot's Garage products as well as others, but they are located about 10-miles from me so it makes picking-up extra products real easy. While I've moved onto other polishes, wax and sealants, I still very much prefer their Car Wash and Speed Shine products. I also have their PC as well.

I have a detailing DVD from Griots and one thing that I noticed was that his random orbital seemed to stall out as he was polishing. He wrote on the side of his pad what polish he was using with that pad, and as he was polishing and the RO stalled, the writing was clearly readable on the side of the pad. For this reason I would suggest getting the Porter Cable, I have never had a stall with it. The Porter Cable has all the power that you would want or need.

You can also check out this thread about Adam's Polishes. BTW, there are a number of great products available on the market, it just comes down to personal preference. If you find a product that you're pleased with and gives you the result you're looking for, keep using it.
