Steering wheel repair / maintenance

I would like to get some opinions from you guys. I bought my car with 60,XXX miles and the steering wheel was in the condition you see in the photo below. I've been able to stop the continued degradation of the leather for the most part, but it oftentimes gets dirty/sticky from use. How/what do you guys treat the steering wheels with to avoid issues like what you see here? Short of buying a new wheel or cover/wrap, is there anything I can do to make this look a little better?

The pic was taken with my iphone, so I apologize for its quality.

Very interested as well. The Accord wheel gets sticky as well. But being stock looks so much better.

You can get a new wheel for $40-50 on ebay, not much you can do to restore the leather that I know of since it's faded

^^Got any links to those - the ebay listings I have seen that fit are in the $400 - $500 range, but that was a couple months ago. I want OEM, not some shit you see put in ford escorts.
