Snow inside car
Hope you guys can help me with this one - my girlfriend left her sunroof open last week and found a mini snowstorm inside her car the next day. She soaked up the seats with towels and a blanket but the leather looks crinkled in a few spots and there's some white dusting on the threads of the center console. Any advice as to what she should do? I'm thinking a good detail with conditioning of the leather but wanted to ask the experts. It's a 6 month old RDX. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry legionofdoom:
I can not really help you since I am not a leather expert. Snow is also not the norm in my neck of the woods. I guess the first think I would do is to get the snow or moisture out of the leather so she does not get any mold or mildew. I would then get some leather conditioner and work it in really well. Hopefully this will help with the wrinkles. Good Luck.

If its on the seats its probably on the floors/carpets as well?
Look for a product called 'damprid". Its a little container that dehumidifies small areas. As for the seats and foam cushioning......eeeeks. You really need to get rid of the moisture, period, or you will have bigger problems.

Get one of those odor eliminating bacteria killers. I put one in another car that I had that got flooded, 5 minutes with the doors shut (let it spread) and then air out for 20 mins. I'd be more worried about the electronics in the car than the seats...

Well the first thing put it in a garage open all the doors, trunk, windows and put the heat on in the room and if you can point them in the car. After 3-4 hours Close everything and turn on your heat in car to speed 3 face and floor don't stay in the car get out and leave it for 45min ideling you can out it out side to do this. Now put it back in the garage and open everything again for 2 hours now most of the water is gone and you can clean it now. Try some windex on a lint free towel seats and dash. If i was you i would not put any cemicals in your car because you have to drive and breath in there after. Good luck! At least it wasn't bird shit

This happen to my TL two years, my son got my keyfob and cracked the windows almost two inches. It snowed and sleeted into the car overnight. I cleaned down the seats with Lexol, never had a problem with odor, leather cracking or switches. There was ice on all of the armrests.
I think I was lucky that it was very cold outside and almost none of it melted before I was able to remove it.

Thank you all for the feedback! I think she's really lucky it was snow and not rain and she said the way it came down caused it to settle more in the cupholders/console/floor. We cleaned the interior with woolite/water and then applied DG leather shampoo and conditioner. Hopefully that will at least take care of the leather to some extent and we'll have to keep our fingers crossed as far as any other issues.
