Scratches after debadging
hey guys ive been reading around on the wash forum but i cant seem to get rid of some scratches. when i debadged the car i got lazy and used a kitchen sponge ( i know extremely stupid no the point) and some go gone. now i have some scratches where the A C U R A was. and also up buy where the 3.2 was. I used the scratch-x from meguirs and it looked like it worked. it doesnt look like it got to the paint just to the clear. i was wondering if i was to really wash it then clay it what process or products could i used to really get down into the scratches. could i hand wax it with a soft filling compound or somthing and really layer it on. then wax. or will i just need to repaint this thing.
i have the scratchex and meguirs deep crystal wash what else and im not tryin to spend 80 bux but tryin to see what i can do.

Sorry to hear that - I would suggest that your next step toward paint correction and protection involve due diligence. Meaning, depending upon the level of scratches (on the clear coat or through to the paint), you'll want to do this step the right way.
It would be a lot easier to suggest solutions if we could see some pics of the scratches? Then, depending upon the type and degree of scratch, many can suggest a group of products to be used either by hand or for best results, with a dual-action orbital polisher and the correct pad(s). My guess is that you'll need some type of surface correction; polish; wax and paint protection sealant - or a combination of these products. Good luck.

Got any pics? Clay isnt going to do you any good, so dont bother. I doubt the kitchen sponge got too deep, but its probably deep enough that doing it by hand just isnt an option.
So like the above poster said, get us some pics and we'll tell you what you need to do.

^^ I'm worried mostly about the color and whether there will be an outline left. I take car of my car pretty well so no worries about scratches. I did plan on polishing after removing the badges.

Yea, that should be fixable, looks like its still in the clear. But not by hand. A random orbit polisher or a rotory and some Optimium compound should do the trick. Might want to consider calling a pro since it looks like whole car might need it anyway...

recently i debadged my car, i used dental floss. It worked well, and left no scratches, but there are some kind of bump or uneven surface. How do i fix it, or does it disappear over time?
