Rim Cleaning Suggestions

I've been neglecting my rims lately and they began to oxidize, I think. Or maybe a build up of soap scum. Any ideas of cleaning my rims? Thanks in advance.

Here are some pics of the mess.

P21S®® Polishing Soap – formulated with polishing clay and soap flakes, so it is simple, gentle, and effective, it will return metal to an OEM finish and it will remove most of the tarnish, as well as any other contaminants. It also works on any lightly tarnished aluminium in your engine bay, exhaust tips, or any other metals that are tarnished.

P21S®® Finish Restorer - this is a polishing product to refine a cleaned finish as opposed to cleaning, it’s formulated to polish - for any metal or plastic surface with or without a clear coat that is faded, oxidized, water marked, burnt, and dirty or built up with brake dust. This metal polish has some of the strongest restoring power of any metal polish available to consumers. Its deep cleansing formula helps release some of the most difficult build ups.

Even on surfaces that look brand new you'll be amazed at how this polish works beneath the surface and removes hard to see contamination, leaves any metal surface with a shine

I tried using mother's metal polish and it did not do a thing. The white stuff on the center cap is stuck on there. I think I need something that is abrasive. How abrasive is the P21S polishing soap? Or maybe hot water and polish?

Is it just the center caps you are trying to clean up? how does the whole wheel look?

That looks like oxidized aluminum which if you can clean it up is still going to have etching.

I haven't had any luck finding anything that will totally remove it.

Meguiars NXT Generation All Metal Polysh; It hasn't failed me yet. Combine it with a powerball/powercone and you will be impressed.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I haven't had time to try to clean it yet. When I do I'll post pics and what I use if I am successful.
