questions about drying towels

First, which glass cleaner and drying towel (for glass) does everyone use? The current microfiber towels i bought from walmart to dry the windows with don't work too well. You guys have any opinions on anything you've tried from patrick that you can link too?

And lastly, which towel does everyone use for applying a quick detailer?

I tried washing my car today and i've finally done a half decent job for my first time. I need to work on my speed and cleaning glass. I am also looking for something real safe that works well with applying a quick detailer. Thanks all!

I use the Costco ones for the QD.

As for glass cleaner I use Stoners Pump Spray on a low nap M/F or on a 12 x 16 WW towel I have.

marshall28:

I use Stoners Invisible Glass and/or Finish Kare #425 with a cheap Costco MF towel for glass. I have never had a problem with any MF towel and Invisible Glass. The Finish Kare #425 is my favorite quick detail spray and it works great on glass since it leaves a very slick finish.

I use Finish Kare #425 quick detailer for the paint. This product is antistatic and leaves a super slick shine on the paint. I am currently using a two MF towel technique. I use a Meguiars Supreme Shine MF for application and a Eurow Titan Microfiber 1216 from Exceldetail for removal. The Eurow MF towels are super plush so they give you a thick pad under your hand. I love them!

Here is a link for the Eurow towels: Eurow Titan Microfiber 1216

Thanks for the recommendations. I have actually never heard of Stoners Invisible Glass. Is this something I could get at pepboys? Or through patrick?

Next time I order from patrick I will probably try the eurow towel.

For glass I've been using the Excel AquaClear Optical microfiber towel and either Stoner's Invisible Glass (which can be bought from your local auto store) or Sprayway Glass Cleaner (which can be purchased from Ace Hardware). As for cleaning the actual glass, it's probably best to use the two towel method; one to apply your glass cleaner and one to buff of the remaining residue. Cleaning glass can be a PITA if you really want streak-free windows and can be an art in itself.

As for quick detailing, I use several different towels form Excel, Detailer's Domain, Obsessive Detail, and soon to be PakShak.

Stoners Invisible Glass pump spray with low cost shop towel (not terry), followed up with buffing off any haze with a low-nap MF.
