Question about these meguiars products (Raptor)
I currently have four coats of Zaino on the car but wanted something I could do 3 coats pretty quickly. So here it goes, I am looking to use the meguiar products and have a few questions. How do I remove the Zaino wax? Are these three meguiars products non caranuba wax, I am hoping so.
This is the process I want to do, and I want to know how the shine is compared to Zaino. Do I need to claybar first or after the premium paint cleaner, and what can I use as lube. What exactly is the process of claybar, just using the bar and pushing hard on the car or just gliding it over the car.
So the first time after I get all the Zaino wax off I want to do...
1). Meguiar's Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner (gets rid of swirls and fine scratches)
2). Meguiar's No. 7 Show Car Glaze
3). 3 coats right after another of Meguiar's Medallion Premium Paint Protection
After the first time I do these three steps, do I just keep on adding Meguiar's Medallion Premium Paint Protection, or do I put Meguiar's No. 7 show car glaze in between each coat of the Medallion Premium Paint Protection. How is the shine using these products compared to Zaino. I am using this instead of Zaino because I dont have to wait 20 min drying time and can just put on multiple coats of the Medallion Premium Paint Protection right after the first coat is done.

Removing Zaino :
a universal method of removing wax would be to use Dawn liquid soap. I think the Zaino guys would agree with that.
CLEANER in non abrassive with polishing oils. The Premium Paint Cleaner is a little more tougher than the Professional Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover 2.0. For more polishing oils use Swirl Remover.
SHOW CAR is a pure polish.
PROTECTION is a polish/protector that contains the some of the same stuff as the Polymer sealent (Mirabenz)
Claybar?
I would reccomend doing a claybar before starting the process, just to make sure you get any 'crap' off the car.
Use Meguiars Quick Clay. The lub spray is just the Quick Detailer spray that comes with the package. I like to use the professional series "final inspection' instead of the quick detailer though. You should just use light pressure, pretty much just enough to keep the bar from slidding out from your fingers.
You can keep using the protection product right after one another. The shine is just as good. Zaino dudes pitch the longevity of the protection, but I wax my car all the time, so it doesnt matter to me. But dust flies off much on my car from what I've seen of my co-workers porsche that uses Zaino.
These are the products I use (exterior paint wise), cause I'm just a freak about it:
1. Hi tech wash
2. Premium Paint Cleaner
3. Swirl Remover 2.0 (just for the added oils)
4. Show car glaze
5. Hi tech yellow wax (this one has caranuba)
6. Premium Paint Protection
7. Final Inspection (just to keep shinin inbetween sessions)
with 5 & 6, you practially but 2 'coats' on right there. I always do everything unless I really dont have time. In those cases I'll do #'s 1, 2, 4, 6.
#2 is a little stronger than #3 to make sure you get everything off, but #3 has more polishing additives than #2.
There is no wait inbetween any of the steps, you can do one after another.
Doing the show car glaze then protection is an idea to cut down on some time. You could do that.

Ok,
Thank you for the post but I am a little confused. I have Zaino claybar and Z6, so can I use Z6 as lube and use the Zaino claybar. If I use Zymol Car Wash that shouldnt make a difference right? Is there anything wrong if I do not use the swirl remover and use just the premium paint cleaner?
I think I am going to stick with these steps and tell me if the car will have a great shine and some protection
1) Clay
2) Premium Paint Cleaner(I have swirl remover, so i can use that instead if necessary)
3) show car glaze
4)Premium Paint Protection
What I did not understand is did you say that you repeat these steps everytime u wax the car. Meaning you dont just keep adding on the glaze and paint protection, but you also use the paint cleaner every time u wax. Or do you just keep adding on the premium paint protection after u do ur initial wax with the above steps. If I was to do the first 4 steps, then on my next wax just put the glaze on then the premium paint protection 3 coats each would that be okay?

If you were to use the medallion premium paint cleaner everytime, wouldnt that just strip the wax you had on there since it preps the surface for waxing.

The first time I used the paint cleaner, my surface wasnt slick (towel just sliding off). Now when i still use it, the slickness is still there, an increase in shine from removing the build-up stuff, removal of swirls.

The M9716 - MEGUIARS MEDALLION PREMIUM PAINT CLEANER will remove Z. It's got some mild abrasives that will take care of it.
Dang...not even the great Dawn will remove Zaino...I stand corrected

You are correct sir. Dawn will NOT remove Zaino. In order to completely remove the Z, you need to use some sort of abrasive, PrepClean, or isopropyl alcohol.
