Prevent clear coar failure from spreading?
Hi guys. So I was looking at my parents' odyssey and found a couple spots that looked like bird droppings from far. Upon closer inspection, I found it is the clear coat. The clear hasn't peeled yet but there are two small white spots about the size of a quarter on the roof of the van near the windshield. The van is 11 years old and will most likely be replaced with a new odyssey in the next year or so, but I would like to prevent it form looking like my 2nd gen tl. Is there anything I can do to prevent further damage? Perhaps wetsand the section and spray on some new clear? The van is in amazing condition for an 11 year old so I want to prevent it from looking like a trashy vehicle. Again, the damage area is very small.
Is it flaking off?
My kids S10 was flaking on the A pilar and I chipped it back to solid clear then sanded / feathered it then sprayed clear from a rattle can .. lasted well over a year and was hardly noticable.

it's not flaking yet, but you can tell the clear is about to fail. there are faded sections on the roof. i found more today while looking out the second floor window. the van is a gold color making it less noticeable, but its just disheartening to see on a car that you've had since new. i'll try what you suggested if it starts to flake off before we replace the van. thanks for the feedback
