The chamois was good in it's day but there are numerous better options today.

Option 1 are pure 100% cotton towels (Fieldcrest or Cannon). Spend the extra $ and make sure they are truly 100% cotton because polyester will scratch paint. Use white towels because they contain no dyes and remove ALL tags before you use them.

Option 2 are microfiber towels - these work amazingly well and most of the high end wax and polish manufacturers are recommending these now.

Option 3 are "Absorbers" - found at Wal-Mart and other places. They work well and I used one on my CL for sometime and still use it on door jambs and the like.

Option 4 is the California Water Blade - this is made of surgical rubber (I think it's a rubber compound). They work like a squeegee and remove water fast. Just make sure you clean them after every single stroke.

Option 5 believe it or not is a NEW leaf blower! Some of the folks who do amazing detail jobs (Shawn S for example) swear by them and they get spectacular results. I tried this a few times and did not find it to my liking but each to their own.

I have used all of the above and several others. My personnel preference are microfiber towels for a number of reasons not the least of which is they are extremely soft and highly absorbent.

Enjoy and have fun!
